it's basically the COD4 engine with a lot better physics and better lighting: buildings are destroyable and burnable, skin melts off bodies, etc. it'll probably look really sexy in, you know, motion. I'd imagine that they're designing it so that after you attack an area, it's unrecognizable from when you first saw it (forests/villages burned down and bunkers reduced to rubble and whatnot). the only not-so-good thing I see is the texturing but COD4 was pretty weak with that too.

they're the same bunch who tend to forget it took four solid months of denial from activision and iw before finally patching the hopelessly broken cod2 multiplayer

good money on half the people who bitch about cod3 having never even played it, they're just bandwagon douchewallops

4-player online co-op, 2-player offline already makes it better than cod4

I think Activision likes to throw the COD name in the crapper now and then. Why just dont give those guys @ Treyarch their own FPS series or something.

This was probably in dev before CoD4 came out and likely not worth scrapping. I'd just as soon they splinter the series off into CoD # and CoD: MW # series.

I loved COD3 multiplayer. Still haven't gotten around to COD4 at all yet. Don't know why.

That's what some magazine said. It seems like they're going for a totally different style cause maybe people don't mind if you're a little rougher with the asians than you are with the aryans lol. but it does seem like they want to give it a darker style. The only other treyarch game that I know I played was COD3 and that was fun even if the story was a little campy but I have hope that they'll pull this game off well with regards to the gore/darker setting because of double the dev time.
