I personally am in favor of less crap filler sequels...

I have HS and think its okay - but I gotta think the first game kicks ass before I care about a sequel and I haven't once wondered when a sequel may come out....

Why does the 360 have such a better lineup in the year of the PS3?

where?

For example - what competes with MGS4?

What else?

What competes with Lost Odyssey and Ninja Gaiden 2 this year on PS3?

Good call. Sony gambled, and lost, with both HS and Lair. And for as much as people like to celebrate Phil Harrison, all of this took place under his wing, so to speak. Seems like spring summer cleaning is in full effect now. Ninja Theory being bitter about their treatment by Sony is a laugh though. These hacks should be happy that someone was dumb enough to fund this incredibly expensive mess of a game, from the makers of Kung Fu Chaos.

They need to give me Twisted Metal now.

I don't know why they ever started this idea that PS3 needed to wipe the slate clean on PS franchises, or why it's continuing now that the scapegoat Harrison is gone.

I don't know, well, maybe.  I think the 360 has a larger number of good games this year, but I think the PS3 has the few amazing titles (by few I really just mean MGS4 and LBP).  The other real stellar games this year are going to be multi platform (like Fallout 3...hopefully).

I thought Twisted Metal for PS3 was already being planned.  It better stay a PSN title since there is no reason to make it a retail game.

Now we are completely ignoring Resistance 2? Two campaigns, one with 8-player, class based online co-op, and 60 player online multiplayer should be interesting to anyone with a genuine interest in FPS. I doubt it will shatter any sales records, but it's guaranteed to be a full featured, polished game.

It's been the rule to kick each new generation off with new IPs. Not sure why Sony hasn't shown much indication of picking up existing legacy franchises, but then we don't really know what's in the works across all internal studios.

Resistance 2 is more of the same sold fun, not "amazing," same reason he didn't mention Gears or any other 360 exclusive.

Anywho I don't see why we can't get an ICO project by now, a Twisted Metal or God of War, have Sucker Punch work on more than one game for a span of 3 years, etc.

I love FPSs. Resistance 1 was shit. It's so average and boring, the story so weak, it was so unremarkable that i can only label it as shit.

Of course some people loved it, lol, i wonder why.

Resistance 2, from what i saw in the GT TV, looks like the same thing. Boring, average, technically competent FPS, that does one or two special things to put in the back of the box (60 players).

And when the time comes, between GOW2 and Resistance 2....fuck resistance. Too bad Infamous and Killzone 2 were delayed, the rest of the year was very promising for the PS3.

That doesn't surprise me, you've always been a bit on the simple side.

Yep, quite simple.

Yea, that latest R2 video was pretty embarrassing. I didn't post it here because it would be dogpiled.

That is true. Basically because i divide games by "Must buy" and "Don't buy". So if it's a "Don't buy" it means it's anything from Average below, which might as well be shit.

Yep, quite simple.

Dude cmon. A 5 hour game, with more focus on a really lame story than gameplay, and gameplay that is so repetitive and simple...it's a bad game.

Bought it, beat it, and got rid of it. Worst buy i've made for the PS3 this gen so far.

Can't say I was too excited about it, but that was mostly because the gunplay in SP looked down right weird. Not sure what in the hell is up with the iron sights in SP.

Still, the MP in Resistance was plenty well playing and full featured, and R2, whether you end up enjoying the campaign or not, is going to up that. And I fail to see how 8-player online co-op and 60 player multiplayer matches can be reduced to "things to put on the back of the box."

Resistance was better than Halo 3 IMO. At least it wasn't trying to pretend it was something it wasn't: an FPS with a good story. Halo 3 proved that wasn't true.

And, in addition to that, this comes as no surprise. Heavenly Sword was only six fucking hours long. Seriously. Is there really a reason to continue this game franchise?

I'd say that MGS4 will be good enough to garnish some more interest in the PS3. I mean, it's one of the best gaming experiences I know of, and it really serves to take out the confusion brought on by the second game while improving on the voice acting and, most importantly, the game play to story ratio. The game play in MGS4 is definitely a step up as well on all levels, and it's one of the better (if not best) games I've played. I'd say the PS3 install base is big enough to reflect this.

Separate campaign, really? GRAW did that, for what? 16 player co op if i remember? Pointless. Co Op is either incorporated in the main campaign or i don't care.

And 60 player matches, with no vehicles? Really? Not to mention, ok so you have this big map, and you are divided by squads, so there's lot's of small battles happening in the Map.

What's the point? cmon, when people see "60 players", they want to jump into chaos, if they want to fight 10vs10 they will just make a 20 player game.
And Resistance 1 was a twitch shooter, so when you add 60 players to the mix, it sounds like it's going to be chaotically boring, because Resistance is very arcadey.

If you liked the 1st one, and are excited for the 2nd, more power to you, but to me it doesn't surprise me that most people simply don't care that Resistance 2 is coming.
