my favorite part was when Robert and the other american dude were running through the corporation shooting those random beasts. They were like "I am real American! I love shooting things and women and expensive cars! Lets go get a beer after we kill all these things!"

That was about all the character development the show had to offer

Hopefully gonna start AD Police tonight.

I think Blood: The Last Vampire is one of the only anime that had English in it that wasn't almost completely incomprehensible.

You may be tempted to watch Texhnolyze sometimes down the road, but don't do it. Ergo Proxy does everything that Texhnolyze does, only a lot better.

Yes, I agree with that. Surreal scifi settings are some of my favorite, particularly ones with post-apocalyptic underpinnings. Also, I like the whole "quest" that constitutes the middle half of the series.

Texhnolyze is in a similar vein, which is why I mentioned it, but the ending was just horrible. And it didn't help that much of the rest of the series ran the gamut of all the negative emotions mixed with a few tablespoons of drab and dull.

I think the title Texhnolyze is something that would actually KEEP me from watching it haha. It just sounds kinda cheap.

Haha, yeah I don't know what they were thinking with that. I got into it because of Yoshitoshi Abe's [minor] involvement. I stuck it out till the end, but when the credits ran on the final episode I couldn't help but think "Why did I waste my time with this mess?" I mean, it's not without merit, but it's one of the few animes I've seen that actively despises its viewers and does everything possible to make them want to kill themselves.

Me well I just finished stand alone complex s1, been watching like 1 dvd a day from the boxset, time to get season 2now I guess.
more recent stuff Ive seen

- casshern sins - which is pretty nicely animated and stylized, have to see more before a verdict on that though
- chaos;head - just kinda randomly downloaded this one off the title and was surprised at how good it is
the main character is some delusional otaku that stumbles upon a murder, anyway to not spoil anything it has quite a bit of humor with a dark twist, give it a try

Ergo Proxy is amazing. I watched it a few semesters ago...skipped a couple days of class to rambo the whole series and got completely into it. The shinsen sub of it was particularly awesome since they had a lot extra info (albeit wiki'd) that filled out some of the references, but they hadn't finished the series at the time-- only up to ep 13 or so, i think?

It was hilarious, there was really no reason for him to say that to her. It's like "Oh, you got me. Nothing I can do. I guess we're going to have peace now and I'll have to stop be a terrorist. But before I do, I just want you to know that I could say something crazy like 'Kill everyone and start a huge war' and you'd totally do it, for reasons that I can't explain. Oh wait, you're actually doing it? Oh....shit. Oh damn. Well that sucks, but on the plus side I guess the terrorism thing is still on then."

Finished Code Geass Season 1. I'll probably watch some more Gundam before I start Season 2.

loved it, its about a city full of magic users or something
the main character sucks at it because he has an arm that cancels anything magic related

I watched the first two episodes of Chaos;Head, it reminds me of Paranoia Agent. The main character is annoying as hell though, he responds to everything with "ummm...".

Also, the ED is lol-worthy.
