I've actually enjoyed the older scenes more than the new ones, they felt really rushed and not very impacto.

shangrila is a weird show, lots of oddball characters and ideas. not sure if want
also watching sengoku basara which is ok, lots of wtf and manly moments

full metal alchemist seems like the only good weekly show atm.

you should all watch time of eve, its like an online only anime that airs every couple months once they finish production

I haven't watched too much lately. Now that school's more or less over I'll have some time to catch up on Basquash, Eden of the East, and Shanri-La.

Mostly what I've watched lately is Lovely Complex. As far as romantic-comedy shows go, it's pretty good, although it follows the tried-and-true formula of taking forever for the lead characters to finally figure out that they love each other, making the show a bit excruciating at times. The high point of the show is Risa's broad range of hilarious facial expressions.

I'm watching the same shows along with Eden of the East and Basquash. Also, I'm going through Casshern Sins. It's really good, I'm loving the art style.

I tried watching another episode of K-on since people on gaf talk about it on every page of their thread.  I managed to get past the OP without suicide, skipped through most of the episode watching 20 seconds to see if there was anything watchable, got to the ending and promised myself I wouldn't ever try that again.  On the plus side it's slightly more watchable than Lucky Star.  Swine flu is a still a better choice than both.

Well this thread is pretty dead and the spring is almost over but Summer is right around the corner. I don't if I should've made a new thread for this or not.

And I came across this today:

I'll modify the thread title.  Dunno about anything on the summer list other than Aika for the ecchi-lolz.  Maybe Bakemonogatari?

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - Some kind of post-disaster show about people coming together or whatever, might be interesting
Canaan - Sounds kind of weird, will probably check out the first episode
Bakemonogatari - Heard the name bounced around a bit, will check out
GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class - Based on a 4-panel comic that was pretty good, will check out
Umineko no Naku Koro ni - Based on a classic detective novel series [if I remember right], might be a decent watch
Needless - Sounds vaguely post-apocalyptic, might have to check out

Nothing jumps off the page. I'll check out Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 because BONES is usually pretty good, and then we'll see where it goes from there.

Tonight though, I'm going to try to marathon through the last 13 episodes of Mobile Fighter G Gundam. :rock Domon :rock

Question, last season I eyed a couple of shows that interested me but I didn't have much time to watch them.

So, how did these shows turn out?

Souten Kouro
Ristorante Paradiso
MAZINGER Z - watching this anyway
Cross Game
Shangra-La
Sengoku Basara

Eden of the East and FMA2 I gotta catch up on.

Note:

Canaan, despite looking like an awful Noir clone, is directed by the guy who did SWORD OF THE MOTHERFUCKING STRANGER (this will be his first TV show) and like Stranger it is an ACTION show.

So it might actually be badass and worth watching.

Oh and it's 428 the animation.  428 is the visual novel game on Wii that famitsu gave 40/40 because the story was THAT GOOD; and this is an anime based off the original script by Typemoon (Tsukihime, Fate)

The Eureka 7 movie is so bad it's amazing that it exists in this form.  If you've seen the TV show you have to watch it though for the wtf moments.

The movie lacks ANY energy, which is exactly what the tv show had in the first place that made it exciting.  The first hour of the movie is boring slow paced talky talky; the 2nd hour is random wtf in a nonsense plot.

The animation is a romhack of the tv show with old scenes photoshopped to become new.  The mech design is a terrrrrible Gundam ripoff complete with Bits and Dendro-clone.  Even the music is absent for most scenes and you don't care about the scenes by the time the music does come in.

I have no idea how this got made and released.

why not wait for the blu ray rips for queen's blade? the tv rips are 4:3 shit.

currently 2 episodes are available.

[FAP] Queen's Blade 01 [1920x1080,Blu-Ray,x264]
[FAP] Queen's Blade 02 [1920x1080,Blu-Ray,x264]

I'm not following Pandora Hearts thanks to this 4:3 garbage trend.

That is smoking HOT. The series was really good, but its biggest problem was that the animation ranged from average to awful. Judging by what was shown in the trailer, that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.

Trigun anime sucked

adjusted

Yeah I've heard the manga is so much better. Trigun is one of the most overhyped animes I've ever had the "pleasure" to watch.

Are the main characters not as vapid as they are in the anime? The only characters I like in the anime are Wolfwood, Knives, and...that's it.

The linebacker chick the worst character still?

Forget about Trigun, in the first 2 minutes Needless has vampires, shoot-outs, giant spider robots, a super-human priest with a grenade inside a hollowed-out Bible, green-haired girls with huge boobs, and people yelling out the names of their special moves.  :o
