Chu-Bra is based on a manga by Yumi Nakata.  Yes, a woman.  I knew her name sounded familiar...read a decidedly "ecchi" series from her called "Shitamachi Madonna Shokudou" when I was in Japan that never came out in English.  Pretty much just had typical fan service.  The plot on Chu-Bra is described as "Azumanga Daioh with panties as the focus."

Uh, sorry.  I don't think even I can handle this one.

They already did that and it was called "Girl's High".

Nah, I read that years back.  It was clearly a comic made for girls of that age (also written and drawn by a woman) and was more in the "gross-out/comedy" vein like a lot of boys' comics with similar themes are.  I dunno if the anime adaption perved it up or not though.

The anime series was okay, I guess, but it did like to throw out lots of casual fanservice.

Durarara!! will probably be pretty awesome, but there's really not much else here that looks like it be anything more than the typical animu dreck we get every season. But I'm still holding out hope that one or more will surprise me! Just not very much hope.

I like the art for Katanagatari, looks different. I doubt that will be the case with the series itself, but we'll see.

This past season has been pretty good actually. Letter Bee, Trapeze, Scientific Railgun, Armed Librarians, Dark than Black 2, Blue Literature, and even Kimi ni Todoke have all provided worthwhile viewing.

What the fuck.

Japan, you used to be cool. What the fuck.

The manga is over three years old-- took them long enough, really.  Why can't they make shows out of GOOD manga, like Ping-Pong Dash?  I loved that comic, and I couldn't even understand all of it!   :lol

it like every season is getting fucking worse

Seriously.   :-\  There are still plenty of great comics coming out, which you will unfortunately never know about unless you are living over there.  Anyone who thinks everything gets picked up or fan-translated would be dead wrong, sadly.

as for recent seasons i will find 1 (or if the stars align 2) that will interest me (eg DTB2 currently) and its like you have to really dig now to find the surprising gems.

also there is the old "taste" difference but i will check out some more of those your recommending.

I think season 4 of Major is probably the best so far. It has more spirit, it's more realistic, down to Earth and tackles actual baseball issues; whether it's going from high school to pro, the pressure to go pro, or the various styles of baseball there is (defensive, offensive;etc).

Hopefully it keeps this up.

It has its moments.  It's hard to remember when Season 4 ended and Season 5 began.

My favorite part was probably Kaido.  In sports anime, I like the training sequences, and Goro showed how super human he was during that part.

I actually want to rewatch that part.  Goro is fucking doing squats with weights on his shoulder while everyone else is complaining that they have to stand there.  They constantly bitch about all the hard work, but he's just like "I'm doing this because it's fun and I'm getting stronger" making them all feel like wimps.
