I'm not getting this.  I read the recent-ish Game Informer write up, and it mentioned why this game has a female protagonist.  One of the reasons was that the artists felt a special connection when creating female characters.  This creeped me out because it was basically admitting that their artist created a character for the masses that he had spent much time repeatedly beating off too.

Plus all of these games look the same and are pretty boring now.  They were great at first, but this formula has been milked dryer than megaman.

This game could just be palette swipe of any Metroidvaina and I'd whack off a horse and drink the cum to get it.

Just a scant few weeks ago I was somewhat lamenting the sameyness of this.  Now after Castlevania Judgment I am prepared to fellate this game.
Even knowing that I can't build up enough hype for this game. The videos basically reaffirm my suspicion that it's by the numbers once again.

This game looks great.  The parts with the light and background shadows look awesome.

Wow this looks like a fun videogame I will buy it and have videogame fun instead of bitching about some internet mantra about palette swaps.

Who does the artstyle for this game? It doesn't look like Kojima or whoever did that anime shit from the past two DS games.

It may look the same as the previous two (or even previous five) Metroidvania games, but I'll still buy and enjoy it just the same.

Some random artist nobody's heard of, IGA found him on the streets in a panicking fit to find some other "dark" artist so he could have an excuse not to use Ayami Kojima again. His excuse in an interview with Nintendo Power was he still "felt Kojima's artwork didn't fit the DS audience, this art is more appropriate". (where in your rectum did you pull that, you massive cuntbag?)

This artwork is good, but I would really... really like to see Kojima do artwork for a new handheld Castlevania (the only good Castlevanias nowadays).

Wow this looks like a fun videogame I will buy it and have videogame fun instead of bitching about some internet mantra about palette swaps.

Actually, this looks like a fun videogame I played two years ago on the DS, which looked like a game I played a year before that on the GBA which looked like... ah screw it :) I will probably play this, but usually with these Castlevania games I will just stop playing them if I get to a frustratingly hard part, whereas the easy ones I play through to the finish. I've finished about 3/5 of them since 2001. Two of the GBA games and one of the DS games. Portrait of Ruin was >:( though.

I haven't found any of the handheld Castlevania titles in the last 7 or so years to be particularly hard.

i dunno. the trailer showed more emphasis on evading enemy attacks and platforming. so here's hoping it's different at least.

Looks 10000000000000x better than the fighting game, even though I've played through every single Metroidvania and they all tend to blend into one another after a while. I don't even remember COTM, HOD, or 90% of DOS.

It looks like that instead of doing the 'slach once, back away, slash again' like previous games, it is more about jumping in and going a combo before evading and letting the stamina/attack bar fill up again.

The game actually looks pretty good and there seems to be a nice variety in the environments this time. For once the stages don't scream "handheld" and seems good looking even for PSX standards. Probably the first Castlevania game I've been truly interested in since Symphony.

Also LOL at the "platforming" video. What this game needs is some sudden death Simon's Quest style platforming to keep you on your toes.

I'll try this series again when they stop re-using the same sprites they've been using for a decade.  They can totally re-use those for 2-3 games and I have no issues.  They've been using them for how many now?!
