Don't know if this is old or not but check it out.  It's a 14 episode web series about a guy that goes to North Korea and secretly videotapes his experience.  If you've had any doubt before that NK is one of the most fucked up places on the planet this will erase any questions.  Totally bizarre and incredibly interesting stuff.

I'm at episode 3 and all I can call N.Korea so far is "spooky". Seriously, what the fuck. The banquet would have freaked me out, and the hotel building their staying at? wow.

That's the girl that works at the tea shop, right?  Could you imagine waiting months upon months just for some appointed tourist to show up?  It'd drive a person insane, imo.

Think she would be better at pool with all that time though.

She actually seemed pretty good at pool but she also look sort of flustered with it all. But yeah, waiting for tourists to show up (which as you said, is months and months apart) seems very bleak.

Just think, 10 or so years from now(of they don't kill us first) they'll probably start getting Tupac music.

They have the Beatles and Bob Dylan in their music room. That's all you need.

Which explains why the music room is empty yuk yuk

i wish i was a North Korean military high ranking official.

1. imagine all the wealth.  the food.  the entertainment.  the comfort.  the lovely parades

2.  imagine all the women.  most of them 20s, some younger.   caressing them.  kissing them.  hugging them.  groping their wares.  even penetrating them.

....against their will.

North Korea isn't that evil.

And I think she's the actual reason they hate the Japanese.

It starts out promising but gets zzzzzz.  Needed some action, like maybe if they busted him taking pictures, they put a railroad spike through the dude's scrotum, like in The Serpent and the Rainbow.  Needs some pep.

I agree.  The documentary consists of going through the sanitized tour while the guy, avoiding the guards, whispers "These guys are fucking insane."  Fuck that.

CNN had a documentary about camera footage of people who smuggle themselves into North Korea and films the events going on there like public executions, a real marketplace where WFP rice is sold on the open markets, and a prison camp.  Now that is interesting.  Some fat bearded fuck looking at paintings of NK propaganda while whispering into the camera is not.

It is interesting.

It is just that I'm a whore for North Korean news.  If you look hard enough, you will see many clips of how North Korea really is, which is pretty much as abysmal as you probably think.  Basically it looks like Stalinist Russia and time has frozen at 1945.

I thought the first half or so was interesting, but then I kinda got bored.  I watched the rest, but it was kinda blue ballsy.  Like I said, needs railroad spikes or Miike-needle torture.

The problem is most of these docs go through the same steps: going to that room at the DMZ and looking at the guards in the TKD stance, going to that captured ship and getting propagandized, etc.  I'd like to see some of the other footage / etc you were mentioning, if its on the web.

God this is fucked up. And the worst part about is the citizens eat it all up. The Police are killing people for giving aid to defectors and no one in the audience dares ask why people would want to defect in the first place. I feel so bad for people who live over there. Eventually the north korean people will topple the shitty government thought. You can only keep people repressed for so long.
