They could have at least remixxed the music...

Right now its the same as the music on my PSOne FF IV

This is most certainly not a must have like it was hyped to be...

Honestly this crap just moves me one step further towards exiling Nintendo from my gaming stack again and going all PS3/PC

I played the game for the first time lastnight.

I must say I am underwhelmed...

I also cant get over how Cecil and the dragoon look like vieutiful Joe characters with the big head/helmets...

I dont really think this game is worth it so far...

sounds pretty bad.  you should send your copy to me.

Gotta say I'm digging it.  I've played through this game a zillion times, and while it is possibly my favorite nostalgia-tinted JRPG ever, it's nice to have it be a lil' different.

My main complaint as of right now is that it's too "true" to the original in regards to camera angle and level layouts.  If they were going to bother modeling all the old shit into 3d, why not do a bit of expanding and redesigning?  Similarly, why emulate the OG battle camera angle rather than going for something FF& inspired, which the DS should have been able to handle.  Heck, even a 3/4ths perspective.

I'm digging the additional difficulty, but so far it's really not so difficult.  It just seems like an enemy in each area has drunk some badass sauce since the last port of the game.

I at least need to play thru a few bosses before I write it off.

I have to echo something Prole said the other day:  in some areas, it seems like the normal random enemies are worse/cheaper than the bosses are.  I'm not terribly far into the game, but I agree.  It's uneven in that respect.

I'm also not fond of the fact that you can miss augments, but they are optional anyway.

TVC, how far have you gotten?

And on your point about the battle camera, they change it up during some key story fights and boss battles.

The camera angles during cinemas are great, really interesting. But the battle cam is a snoozer unles syou're fighting a boss.

Not too far--just finished Chingchong land and got Palom and Porom.  I quit there for the night because that part is a bit of a slog, even in the original game.

Finally started it last night. Just got to the part where you leave Baron.

Are there that many cut scenes throughout the game? I don't remember FFIII having this many so early on.

Well, FFIV was the mark in the series where it started getting a bit more story-oriented.  Especially with this remake, which tries to make it as cinematic as possible.

Just beat Cagnazzo

People thought he was hard?  Man, I actually though Baigan was harder.  He could never get Tsunami off, I raped him with Blizzaga and Blizzara.  And Slow.

Easy.

Y'all thoroughly skeered me enough so I'm grinding it out more than I usually do in RPGs. I'm only to the part where Anna dies and Cecil is already a level 25. Haven't had any problems yet.

That's probably not such a good idea.  Cecil changes classes soon after that and reverts to level 1.

And he'll probably be over 30 by the time he changes classes.  :lol

Oh well, at least you're other characters will be high.
