I want it, but I'm still so burnt out on this game.  I'll probably wait a few years before picking it up so that I know I can make it all the way through and fully enjoy it.

fuck it, who am i kidding.  i'll have this by the end of the year

Picking this up tonight, looking forward to it... though I've beaten the original US SNES version (and FF4j, and the GBA port) more times than any other game in history.

I'm enjoying it so far. I'm about 4 or 5 hours into it. About to go up to the mountain to turn Cecil over to the good side with Palom and Porom.

I haven't had any complaints with the battle system so far, but I also have the speed set to 1 (fastest). I'm really enjoying the auto-battle system and being able to pick what you want your characters to do during auto-battle. It really speeds up grinding.

Just got it.

Alright.  This is getting out of hand.  I just picked up P3:FES, Civilization Revolution, and now FFIV all within a couple of days.  I've only got a week off and Angie is coming back Thursday.  I don't know when I'll actually have the time for all this shit.

So I def won't be buying this, maybe in September when I'm commuting every day.

I'll probably pick this up eventually.  I never played anything but the US SNES version, and haven't touched that in nine-odd years (though every single track of music is still burned into my brain) so I'll be going in relatively fresh.

FFIV on the DS > PS:FES.  Granted I haven't played too far into P3 yet but so far I'm loving this version of FFIV....of course that may be partially due to nostalgia.

I'd been staying away from this on Patel's recommendation.  I asked him if maybe it was something I would like that he didn't, and he asked me 'do you like horrible grind-y shit' or something to that effect.  Can someone please offer counterpoint?

Man. I don't know if it's because I haven't played IV all the way through in years or what, but the music so far is like one big eargasm. I feel like I'm being bathed in nostalgia-inducing digital goodness.

I don't remember enjoying FF3 DS as much as this

Just left Mount Ordeals, I'm back in Mysidia.

I have been playing this all day.

This is one of the best remakes ever. It's the same game, but in many ways it feels like a totally new experience. Some bosses have been completely revamped, and a lot of scenes have a lot more impact in 3d than in 2d. I'm loving this so much.

* augments? auto potion?
* whyt and stupid pet growing sim shit
* no zoom in feature to find hidden items like FF3, seriously what decision is that
* 3D DS makes my dick go soft
* music isnt as hot as original

chalk it up for nostalgia, this game blows goats

The developers made several changes for this release. The enhanced graphics from the WonderSwan Color port have been even further improved, and minor changes have been made to the music. Earlier versions of the game also suffered from many bugs during battles, these were fixed partially for the European release. The localization team revised the English translation, improving the flow of the story, and certain plot details absent from the original have been restored.[58] The player can change characters among Edward, Yang, Porom, Palom and Cid after defeating the Giant of Babel, although Cecil must be in the party at all times. Two new dungeons have been added: a new cave at Mt. Ordeals featuring powerful armor and stronger weapons for five additional characters, and the Lunar Ruins, accessible only at the end of the game.[58] New trials exist for each character at this location, reachable only after a particular character has defeated the final boss, for example Cid's trial involves ferrying people around in an airship, and Rydia's trial involves fighting her own summons. The Lunar Ruins feature some of the best items in the game and another version of Zeromus to fight. This is his alternate scorpion form from the Easytype version, dubbed Zeromus EG. Also available for battle are a superboss named Brachioraidos and lunar versions of the summons, comparable to the dark aeons in Final Fantasy X.[66]

Up to three game saves are possible. In addition, a "quick save" function is available in which the player can save the game anywhere (except in battle or dialogue), but the saved data is lost if he/she continues from that save point. Completing the game unlocks a music player.

I just made it to Mount Ordeals.  I'll probably become a paladin then go to bed.  It's a pretty kickass remake so far.  I had a little trouble on the bomb boss when you meet Yang for the first time.  I didn't defend the first time I tried it and the only person left standing when it blew up was Yang with about 50 hp.  The second time Yang and Cecil lived but the smaller bombs killed anyone I rez'd immediately and then got Cecil.  The third time it took about 7 phoenix downs but I finally got a healer to stay up.  Probably because there were only 3 small bombs left at that point.
