Yeah, Brubaker is great.
I loved A Complete Lowlife, but I really started to follow him when Sleeper debuted. I started an e-mail correspondence with him when Sleeper hit the streets and did my best to promote it with homemade .gifs on GAF and other forums. As a result, he sent me some autographed stuff for free. He told me to start reading Catwoman and Gotham Central, but I thought that stuff was for the birds, so he sent me a bunch of issues of both for free. I got hooked. He's still very cool, but I haven't spoken to him in awhile. After a couple of his projects went belly up because lack of sales, like Gotham Central, I do my best to buy his works (Criminal and Captain America as of late) and not take his hand outs.
