fuck yeah, I played the shit out of that game
unlocked the hunk scenario and beat it and shit, I could beat the game in like 1 hour 30 minutes with an S rank etc. not even using a faq I just knew the game inside out. It was awesome
Yup.
RE2 is one of the few games I truly
mastered.
To get the infinite gatling gun you had to do something ridiculous like beat each characters scenario in under 45 minutes, without using special weapons or health sprays OR saving. Which I did do. And then I think I never touched the game again.
Anyway, the only game to nail QTEs is RE4. Every other game is a sad pretender. Even the mighty God of War doesn't use them right. Inputting a long ass sequence of button presses and stick twirls every 5 minutes is no good. Every damn enemy should not have a QTE fatality. Every damn boss should not be 1 minute of spamming attacks and then a 30 second QTE sequence repeated 10 times.
RE4 kept them tight and clean. QTEs are dodges, jumps, very simple reactions. That's what a QTE should be. A simple little reaction speed test that rewards you with a few seconds of cool looking animation. Not 30 seconds of Simon while your character does an outrageous little dance.
