To be fair, I've only really seen Fort Garry, which is a spread out suburb full of strip malls, industrial parks, and ugly low rise apartment building. It's not going to be fun walking 40 minutes to the law building in minus 30 weather.
At least the campus is nice. Why can't cities look more like university campuses. (maybe I should move to Europe.)
Canada only has a few decent cities*:
Montreal, parts of Ottawa, Kingston, and Vancouver--if you're a hippie who likes to live in cramped condos
Stay away from all other Canadian cities, especially Brampton.
*Burlington is a decent suburb
