This game is awesome. It's like Star Wars Advent Rising.

Now you did it.

I was kinda looking forward to this, too.  After playing the demo, I can cross it off the release list and wait until its half price.  And list of reasons why

I find your lack of faith disturbing.....

sorry, I had to do it.

There are levels where destructability is more present.
what else, besides wood, could there be?  they dropped the ball with anything that's metal.

I know there is glass, wood, and plants that are affected.

I thought the demo showed off environmental destructubility pretty good considering its location.  I got a kick out of taking out the windows in the demo.  I wasn't expecting it and thought I'd screwed myself until the airlock closed.  Even little things like the lightsaber leaving marks was a nice touch.

Chucking boxes through glass next to enemies, bending girders so Tie fighters run into them, throwing enemies out windows and over ledges, ripping shit off the walls and hurling it - I found it all fun.  At least there was no shortage of stuff to play with which was good.

I think its fucking shit

+ graphics are good
- Jedi Outcast did the lightsaber marks on walls / objects better
- For some reason your saber will take out a window thats meant to be built to hold-in a star destroyer's cabin pressure, but it won't take out a small box. Picking up said box and throwing it with the force at a wall will sometimes make it blow up though. Digital Molecular Matter my ARSE.
- Moving things about in the air with the two sticks feels terrible.
- Ropey camera
- Ropey targetting system
- Shitty saber combos
- You can float in mid air while swinging your saber
- Character is practically invincible in the demo

Aside from graphics, every Jedi Knight game including Dark Forces II probably has this game beat. I got that bad a vibe from it. The video it shows when you complete the demo does look good, but I'm sure cut-scenes and QTE sequences will look good. The graphics aren't the problem, the shitty gameplay is.

Uh, it's a linear action adventure game. Has a couple of basic puzzles, and mainly makes you slice your way through linearly placed hordes of enemies, through the use of simple combos.

Looks like God Of War but with force powers.

How in the world does linear equate to corridor runner? At what point in GoW2 do you feel like you're being railroaded down similar looking hallways fighting the same mob of enemies over and over? Granted, you are still mashing buttons (kind of like here, I guess), but the setting makes all the difference.

Again, the demo bit feels that way. The ending video looked cool.

Is Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy worth playing?

Not as good as Jedi Outcast, but it is still pretty fun.  It is cool that you can make, and customize your own Jedi character and all that.

I'm thinking it will be less dated looking than Jedi Outcast :p, and that kinda matters these days.

The dual sabers barely change the combat at all, and the same goes for the double sided saber.  The only thing it really adds is more razzle and some more dazzle.

And personally I think Jedi Outcast still looks quite nice.

Based on the demo, which I did enjoy, I expect The Force Unleashed to be worse than both Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast.

That just makes getting the lightsaber all the better.

Sometimes when playing, I would actually just throw the lightsaber behind a wall to get it stuck so I can run around with it for a bit, only to call it back at the last second.  That was just awesome.

This is amazingly mediocre.  I almost feel bad for the developers it is so middling.  I was bored within 2 minutes of throwing boxes around.  It's nowhere near as good as any of the Jedi Knight games or Psi-Ops.  I haven't seen enough to tell if it has many QTEs to approach God of War levels of shittiness.

It's so sad that we're going to go from early June and Bad Company to late September and Brothers in Arms without a good game release.*

Now it's the setting. But yeah, most of God Of war is exactly being "being railroaded down similar looking hallways fighting the same mob of enemies over and over", until the setting changes, just like in Star Wars.

Not to mention, we were talking about Corridor Beat em ups, now it's the setting. :) We are reaching an agreement.

For something to be a corridor beat em up, it has to take place in corridors. A corridor is a setting.

Well, i thought you were talking about game design. In that case FU isn't a corridor game, since it has open areas, you can see that in the videos, i don't know what the demo has.

God of War 3 is going to be the greatest game of this generation.

I liked both those games a lot; I recall not having a lot to do other than regular FPS stuff, not brawler stuff.
