Okay so I'm seriously considering playing WoW again. Will any of you WoW players teach me how to have fun with this game?
It's really all in your head, the fun to this game. If you wanna be fatalist, the truth is; WoW is about killing things. That's it. Outside of killing things, there isn't much to do 'cept rape the economy with AH. The fun has to be what you look for, and what kind of play style you're after. If you like playing by yourself, then exploring the MASSIVE world in WoW is always fun, unless you've seen it all.
The main thing to understand is that 1-70 isn't WoW. Really, no matter what anybody tells you, leveling is basically an extremely long tutorial. The game starts at endgame, regardless of how ironic that sounds. At endgame, you can grind your professions and get fucking rich, join a guild and do raids and instances (what I hope to do), simply explore the areas of the game (much easier to do at 70 because if you happen upon some mighty motherfucker, just lay the smackdown). If you lack any improvisational creativity, WoW is never going to be fun, but more like a punishing addiction. You have to make the fun for yourself, and that's the beauty I see in it. Walking around questing, I'll come to some alcove and see this big monster and I'll get all excited, just happening upon all the things in WoW.
That's all I know. What I said up there is what makes me like WoW so much, maybe for other people 1-70 is the game and the endgame is shit, but to me, the game is only beginning when you've finished leveling.
Everyone come on. Race me to lvl 60.
I want to, but you'll probably win, and it looks my schedule is going to push WoW into a "if I have time" thing this school year.
