Yes he did. He finished two places below Hillary in Iowa

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. I agree Hillary would have helped the ticket but so does Biden

Well, whatever.

Biden obviously didn't run a campaign worth remembering.

So now this election race is going to be a dead heat, which McCain will edge out and win by talking about a new cold war with Russia.

Fuck Obama for ruining the hopes and dreams of socialists everywhere.

How many electoral college votes is Delaware going to bring? Like one? Okay.

How about New Hampshire? Like two? Maybe.

How many electoral college votes is Hilary Clinton's New York going to bring? Like a million? Right.

Didn't Hilary Clinton win California too?

That would've been another two million electoral college votes right there.

Obama done fucked up, and now we'll never have free healthcare like Canada.

When I became an icon, I was disappointed by how little the forum is used. And we mostly just bitch at MAF for not lepering or banning shitty posters like Wolfgang.

And I find the comparison between APF and wolfgang ludicrous.

It's basically the same meme as the "he's such a great orator that he must be dumb" one that Synth Patel brought up a while ago.

Who says that though?

To clarify, "is dumb" in my post stands in for "has no substance" and its variants.  Sorry for the phrasing.

It's a popular meme and not a stock one used to attack liberals (unlike the elitist and traitor labels which have long precedents).  Seems to me that it has a lot to do with Obama's success and his presentation.

People see a relatively good looking young man performing on stage in front of thousands of adoring young admirers and they naturally go to their archetype of an entertainer.  From there it's intuitive to dismiss him as empty and his supporters as faddists and naifs.

Most or all of the people who say this stuff about Obama are not terribly informed about policy themselves so I figure they're going off a gut feeling.

Why are you guys getting riled up over these bullshit attacks?  This is election time.  Stuff that would have been laughed off any other time is now used as fodder for attack.  Of course, a lot of Americans lap this shit up and 2008 isn't shaping up to be any different.  It is why I have the TV turned off until November 3rd.

Yeah but these days, it is a given.  Americans these days claim to hate these bullshit attacks but they can't stop talking about them.  Which is why they keep getting shown.

One of my favorite books I read recently was Nixonland.  The book talked about these kinds of attacks and how the purpose was not even legitimacy but to get the opposition tangled up in it.  The Southern Strategy of 1968 is still alive and well 40 years later.  I recommend the read because McCain is continuing the GOP legacy that Nixon and Goldwater helped to establish.

The whole PUMA movement is a weird mishmash of genuine Hillary supporters who lost perspective during the primaries, concern trolls trying to stir the pot on behalf of McCain and all-purpose crazies.  I still say it doesn't amount to much and it only gets play on the news because the Obama/Hillary matchup was such a big draw.  They'd like to make it into Democratic Primary Gaiden.

You know something like that isn't true when EVERY SINGLE GOP OPERATIVE says it.  For all she's well liked by a majority of Democrats, a majority of Americans (all Republicans and most Independents) still don't like her and putting her on the ticket would have only mobilized them.  Plus, the double minority dip ticket isn't gonna work any time soon.

Amazing speech. She did everything she needed to do, her passion was evident in her voice and gestures, and she made the best possible case to her holdout supporters. Her attacks on McCain were tough yet grounded with the type of wit and humor that makes people remember the exact quotes. Her basic point was simple though: we are all democrats and believe the same things, therefore it is imperative to vote for Obama. Perhaps the best thing she said was when she asked whether her voters were voting for her or the various people who need the help the republicans are not interested in providing. I thought that was the key point here.

Very impressed. My mom cried lol

Come on now. She had some great lines. The one about her mom being born when women couldn't vote and how her daughter voted for her for president literally gave me chills. Crazy to think women couldn't vote not so long ago. Then there was the Twin Cities zinger.

Her "highly dislike" number by REPs has fallen 28% in the last couple months. I know for a fact my wife would have voted for her. Hell, my 80 year old grandmother who's voted DEM for decades is voting for McCain because she's so pissed Hillary isn't the nominee.

I could live with her as POTUS. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't.
