Awesome, did the thirty-man with repede, he's the top dawg. Got the map nerd achievement by uncovering the whole map. There's some weird infinity or 8 in the northwest oceans next to an island with a building underwater you cant get to. wonder what it means. Im still gathering mats for the fake moustache and pipe for yuri

Im pretty far, just never went back after I left there.

I think achievements may keep me going a bit longer, im doing a lot of side crap on the off-chance it gets me an achievement, like the map thing. It was pretty tedious since a lot of the shade is hard to see in the transparent map.

I thought you were ahead of me too. I guess I played it longer than I realized this past weekend. I'm at the same place after playing for 37 hours. I'm gonna try some of the sidequests later on, so I think I'll finish at 60+ hours.

If you use rita its easy, up in there as melee its probably harder. Once your melee characters get the Taunt skills you can just hang back and spam whatever you want. I did the bug IN the desert (canteens) and one in the cave that looks like some weird turtle.

I usually use repede as my 4th for item stealing. Raven is for all intensive purposes a caster. Some fights you can get away with just Yuri tanking but I tend to prefer two melee to cover me as rita and estelle

So I guess sticking with Karol would be a good option.  I already have Rita as my main ranged attacker while me and Karol beat the shit out of monsters up close.  I had no idea he would be an archer because it seemed like he had a samurai sword in the cutscenes.

Yeah, Karol isnt bad and becomes a pretty good tank. I switch between him, repede, and judith most of the time. Im trying to get Repede through the 30/60/100 man arena challenges. KILLER FIGHTIN DOG

I don't know who Judith is yet, but if she is a good melee character then she can replace Karol eventually.  I hate that he keeps doing his healing hammer techniques when we already healer.  I want Flynn in my party.

This game is going to drive me crazy with these damn skills.  I just bought like 5 weapons I need to now grind for Yuri.  I gave up on dealing with my secondary party members and am only keeping the main ones stocked, but it is still so much.

And Yuri is totally awesome.  He is the Batman of the Vesperia world (Flynn is Gordon).

Money isn't my problem.  If I needed money, I could always sell shit.  It is the fact that I have one great weapon, then a bunch of shit that I have to grind with to get the skills.

Can someone clear up secret missions? I thought they were just optional side quests, but the Battle Book makes it sound like they're specific goals in a mandatory mission.

They are all in boss fights. Normally, if you do what you're supposed to do, there'll be a quick cutscene mid-fight and it will say "Great!". I think the only fight where this doesn't happen is the first one. Besides that, there are about two or three boss fights that don't have secret missions, but all the other ones do.

Aha. I have no idea what I did, but I made the robot fall over.

Repede has lots of agility and average attack power. Karol is incredibly slow and has powerful attacks that miss a lot.

Yep. Sometimes he uses it a bit too much, but it's more helpful than Karol's healing aid smash. And if you keep using it, he'll eventually start shooting 2-3 arrows instead of just 1.

What the fuck...I find a bunch of octopus enemies on a random sand island, so I go and fight them dozens of times waiting to drop jet black ink, yet they don't.  These enemies have an attack where they shoot black ink at you.  Where the hell is this jet black ink stuff!
