So funny how you can turn a perfectly good position about immigration around to say that Mexicans are dysfunctional.  I mean come on. What are you? A Mex-i-can or a Mex-i-can't?

GOP.com | THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE
http://www1.voterstats.org/www/delivery/ck.php?zoneid=351&iszonetrack=1&EMAIL=*my email*&PKID=rË

Dear *me*,

I know that John McCain is the right person to lead our great country forward in these
challenging times. Republicans across the country and I share his vision for keeping
America prosperous and secure and look forward to helping communicate that vision to
the American voters.

As Governor of Alaska, I have worked hard to bring reform to politics-as-usual, fight
corruption and waste, and make certain that government serves the people, not the
special interests.

Our Party's entire ticket, from top to bottom, is committed to an agenda of cutting
wasteful pork-barrel spending and keeping taxes low so that American families can
decide how to spend more of their hard-earned money instead of bureaucrats in
Washington. We must act now to increase our energy independence and ensure our
economy grows strong and offers opportunity to all of our citizens.
http://www1.voterstats.org/www/delivery/ck.php?zoneid=351&iszonetrack=1&EMAIL=*my email*&PKID=rË

I applaud John McCain's personal example of dedication and sacrifice to our country,
and I know he has the courage and experience to make the tough decisions that will
keep America strong to face the threats to our security from Islamic terrorism,
nuclear proliferation, and tyrannical regimes.

Like John McCain, Reform Republicans are optimistic about America's future -- and confident
that we will build on our past successes to make our great country even greater.

We reject the Democrats' fearful and pessimistic mentality. When we are able to get our
message past the liberal mainstream media filter – directly to the voters – the vast
majority of the American people agree with our confident, optimistic view of principled,
conservative government and opportunity for all.

But the Obama Democrats and their allies are set to raise over $1 billion to relentlessly flood
America's airwaves with their negative and false attacks against our Republican candidates.

That's why I'm asking for your help. Please help give us the resources we need to fight back
against the Democrats and their fearful tactics of doom-and-gloom. Help us fight for a better
future for all Americans today by making a secure online contribution of $2,000, $1,000, $500,
$100, $50 or $35 to the Republican National Committee.
http://www1.voterstats.org/www/delivery/ck.php?zoneid=351&iszonetrack=1&EMAIL=*my email*&PKID=rË

I am honored to have been asked by John McCain to join him at the top of the ticket in this
historic presidential election -- and now I am asking you to join with me and all of our
candidates as we fight for victory on November 4th.

Sincerely,

Sarah Palin

P.S. As we near Election Day, we must cut through the false claims and fearful rhetoric of the
Obama-Biden Democrats. Please help us make sure we have the resources we need to get our
commonsense, confident message out to the American people by making a secure online campaign
contribution of $2,000, $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $35 to the RNC today. Thank you.

It's next to impossible for any candidate to score a meaningful victory in these read-the-soundbite-from-the-cue-cards sessions. They don't remotely resemble a real debate, and thus we don't ever get to hear what the candidates really think or have their lack of knowledge exposed. A monkey in a suit could do ok in one of these 'debates' with the amount of prep Palin has. Palin just has to stick to her script and she can't really lose any of the Republican voters. She's clearly so dependent upon scripted answers that I expect her to do just this.

Biden is actually more of a risk to do something interesting because he has the confidence to deviate from the script. But the odds seem high that there will just be a lot of on-message bullshit that largely fails to address both the question and what the other party is saying.

Even for all his slip-ups, you could still effectively diagram most of the sentences Bush used in his debate. You can't parse Palin's verbal diarrhea -- it just doesn't make any sense. She's the female Brick Tamlin. And as uninformed as Bush comes across in many issues, he's clearly better-read than Palin.

Bush's stuttering redneckery is probably a consequence of long-term alcoholism; Palin's is the result of the life she has led -- first as a Pentecostal beauty queen, then as a Pentecostal hockey mom.

Conservatards will cream their panties over her but this is really about the moderates.  I expect Fox News to do their usual and for idiots like Elizabeth Hasselbeck or whatever her last name is to spin it as a Palin victory.  However, her constant word salads will make it difficult to idiot Americans (read: the majority) to understand what the fuck she is saying.  They will lose interest in her fast, especially if she can't give a direct answer or anything that resembles competency.  On the other hand, I expect Biden to be very thorough but comprehensible.

No doubt Palin is getting coached but she has been since August.  McCain and Co. knew how dumb she was, which is why they made her read a script written before she was vetted.  She has been coached the entire time and we're still getting these crappy ass performances.

With the bar already set low and only falling in time, the fact that she managed to dress herself and walk to her designated podium in two tries or less will constitute a victory.

I think it is more about partisan politics.  There are still a lot of fools out there that will never give the Democrats a chance, even though the Republicans in office have been fucking the ass of America raw for 8 years.  They know how shitty Palin is but you will never get them to admit it.  Most of her justifications have been laughable.  At least Dan Quayle went to law school.  Palin spent six years to get a journalism degree.  Plus with the economic instability and Main Street's 401k's and chances to get loans are dwindling away, people are going to care more and more about Palin's competency than before.  McCain banked that the image will sell her the best and it did until the economy reared its ugly head into the picture.  Now it is becoming more and more about who has the best strategy to make sure the US economy doesn't crater and we enter into Great Depression 2.

I believe he is too....but they dumbed him down for the electorate and they ate it up.  Of course, people are paying a helluva lot more attention to this race than the last two, which is a good thing.

So many conservative leaders and columnists calling for her to bow out of the election sure doesn't give much confidence that they think it will make her electable in the way ole W was though.

I really don't think that this debate means nearly as much to people as some make it out though.  A bad performance on her part could turn off some undecided voters - but I really don't believe a stellar performance will suddenly make them think that McCain/Palin is now an acceptable ticket solely because of the economy.

Biden just needs to watch how he returns her volleys - because she is definitely going to try the cutesy shit with him.

Bush is a lot smarter than Palin.  Bush is just a good ol' boy who has always had a silver spoon in his mouth.

Palin however is a legitimate idiot.  She's riding the wave of cute responses and cute looks but when people are losing 5-6% of their 401k in one week, the cute act isn't going to cut it.  Americans only will switch party allegiances for two things: a draft and whether they can buy useless shit or not.  The latter is now in question.  Americans are going to want answers and they won't find it for Palin.  Palin basically just backs John McCain but unlike McCain, she has trouble citing figures (even if they are false) or at least coming up with a plan that isn't a 500 word ramble that includes every GOP talking point.

I don't expect it to make a big difference but it will probably give 2-3 percentage points to Obama/Biden in the polls, further adding pressure to the McCain sinking ship.  McCain is already half insane and angry.

If you can't stump Couric in an interview you can't stump anybody in anything

Couric did a good job of asking follow up questions but everything changes in a debate. She won't be able to just say "Imma have to get back with you on that Gwen!" And if she even dares to take on Biden she's gonna get smashed; I bet part of their strategy is to troll Biden into saying something demeaning.

American's gave Palin the benefit of the doubt, they liked her, they defended her from the media, etc. But now money is on the line, and people don't want to give the keys of the country to a dumbass again. I seriously seriously doubt she'll be able to get away with a bad (think Bush 04) performance simply by using identity politics/stories/etc.

That's probably good for Biden, if they cross talk he might lash out at her too hard and get her some sympathy. If she's forced to stand alone and answer the moderator's questions, she will just spit out gibberish and he can come back with a smart response instead of a chuckle. Ideally.

Palin claims in an interview with Sean Hannity media censors her comments.

(I had no idea she had such a dirty mouth!)

Also, the article says Palin didn’t answer any questions from listeners. Wouldn't want any "gotcha" questions from voters.

The Alaska Governor also said that 85 percent of small businesses would be adversely affected by Obama's tax plans, and added it is "scary that Sen. Biden has not grasped" the need for a comprehensive energy policy, which Palin said should include offshore drilling.

lol wut.

Quote
And Democratic nominee Barack Obama was irresponsible, though, to not get involved in bailout negotiations, Palin said. "John McCain was leading this charge toward a bipartisan effort that could help support Wall Street," the Republican vice presidential candidate said, "but Barack Obama was phoning it in."

Is that you, Tucker? McCain spent half his time quite literally "phoning it in last week".

Palin reiterated claims that Obama had voted against funding for troops in Iraq, calling him reckless and irresponsible. "It's beyond naive, it's downright dangerous to think that those were Obama's positions," Palin said.

There's the McCain debate talking point we're so familiar with. Unforunately it doesnt work as well when the candidate isnt 72 and a war vet and has been in the senate for 20+ years and has zero real foreign policy experience.

Quote
"Americans, as individuals, we have to start changing our habits also, and start incurring less debt," Palin said, adding that Americans should take more personal responsibility in managing their own finances.

looks like they've pre-loaded her with McCains lies for tonights debate. Should be annoying.
