If I want to play last-gen games there's still better-looking, better-playing, less-expensive PS2 games I haven't gotten around to yet.

I don't even have an SDTV.  my gaming experience for the last couple years has been strictly limited to 240x200x2 or whatever the DS resolution is.  I did buy Persona 3 Fes and MG Acid 2, in anticipation of the day I have money/space for a TV/PSP.

Your denying yourself potentially enjoyable experiences based on a jehova complex.  I think you are the metaphorical heap of feces here.  I couldnt care less about HD and surround sound and other arbitrary bullshit.  I just want a smooth framerate and catchy tunes.  The areas that hurt GAMEPLAY on the wii are piss poor online integration and worthless accelerometers.  Theres plenty of games that use IR intuitively to justify the system at this point, more to come.  And when WiiHD does roll onto the scene I expect motionplus in every controller to elevate the notion of waggle beyond the laughing stock it is now.

I'm surprised by the amount of games, and inclusion of non-wii play type of stuff. Still, I am disappointed they bought into the idiotic amount of FPS and Action titles out. Would it kill someone to make a new game in a genre not overkilled?

It is as you say, potentially strong.  It is more natural to be pessimistic towards something on the system at this point.  Not to mention that they only actually showed one actually strong game per system.  Sin and Punishment 2 on the Wii, Mario and Luigi 2 on the DS.  What else is there? a line up of games rounded up by middling developers? a bad hardware redesign of the DS? re-releases of games you can already buy? What reason is there to be optimistic again?

oh, I actually forgot the big announcement that they are announcing that sometime in 2009 they will figure out how to let you use the SD card slot already in the system to expand the storage space -- 2+ years and they can't figure that out.  This makes Sony seem up to date.

The thing that actually does tick me off is when people call anything that isn't total face stomping praise to be 'hating on it'.  Those hyperbole spitting bastards just ruin the bar to base your judgment.  If I had to make a shitty analogy, I would say that I just have a large glass while they are drinking thimbles of overflowing Miyamoto urine.
