Hopefully the game will bomb straight out of the gate. Don't wanna hear PS3 fanboys trying to shove down on everybody's throat on how a platformer with a level creator is the best game of the decade.

Well, if you ever do get a change to play LBP and start messing around with the creator and learn about it all, that whole stage would be put in perspective.  I don't think I could ever do that even if I had the time...I probably wouldn't want to either, but still it is really impressive.

it's a simple calculator built using ENTIRELY physical mechanisms - there is no "game logic" here, it is all wires, pullies, and physics.

This is one of my pet hates with LBP.
It's awesome that this guy has the brain to put this into the game world, but a good level it does not fucking make. Grab block and pull for a couple of minutes, win. WTF is that!? If you have the brains to make something like that, at least stretch yourself a little more and make it fun at the same time. Same with the fucking calculator :(

i liked it because it seemed inventive and was easy to complete. most of the levels i played were a fucking mess and a pain in the ass to finish because of floaty ass jumping and distinguished mentally-challenged fellows making levels that made you try for precision jumps over obstacles.

I agree, but it's still neat.  It is kind of like those youtube videos of people making songs in Mario Paint.  The only music experiments I tried with LBP was to have an off screen music player that plays by itself, but I got lazy and never worked ito ut.

The mechanics involved in making a working calculator is what's mind blowing. It's not a level, it's a proof of concept. You see a lot of stuff like that when something like is just released. People trying to see what they can and can't do.

The calculator really isn't that cool. XP comes with a much better calculator and you don't have to pay $599 for the 60gb console and $59 for the game to use it.  Not to mention the cost of internet service to download the level.  The only consolation here is that the PSN is free.  This game is sent to die.

i'd be willing to bet they patch a slight control tweak pretty shortly after release, the sticky jump between levels of depth and the floatiness seem to be major complaints - even one of the media molecule guys said it occasionally irritated him in something i read

it could work, they could do that with the addition of physics switches, like the sound/etc. switches

jinfash, i think it will be a very slight tweak, if the MM guys are admitting to it being bothersome then i think it's coming

besides, it won't matter much, because of all the levels i played almost no one seemed to take into account the looseness of the controls, a lot of them had pinpoint jump spots which frustrated me to the point of quitting

"jump like mario!' doesn't work in this game, at all

Well, it's a game based on community participation and communication, so chances are that it will see ample support from the developer. If there's a strong enough community response, things will likely be added and adjusted. When that will happen is another question altogether, but I don't recall Sony and its partners as having been particularly slow out with patches and additions.

So can we now finally come together and agree that the fabled tough and balanced Edge is just that, a fable? I'd say that you could add Eurogamer to that, but they lost their credibility with the Hailstorm so they don't even count these days.

LBP has been delayed in europe due to containing lyrics from the Quran. Now looks to be 14th Nov. Expensive mistake, as they had already shipped it out to stores.

Keep your early copies for ebay

it's not an official statement, and they don't mention the Quran...

True, but something is afoot, and the peices do fit. Wait for Sony to respond I guess. I would thing they would be looking to avoid controversy with a family title.
