Try Chaos Theory on your PC again. New Nvidia drivers allow AA to be turned on in Shader 3.0 mode. The game still looks quite beautiful because of the shadow and lighting.

Yeah, the PS3 version looks terrible in comparison shots. Also, I've read that the framerate is noticeably worse than the 360 version.

man, sounds like the worst version to get then! On 360 there was a little slowdown when the action heated up sometimes... Isnt the PS3 version supposed to have extra content or some shit?

Apparently the IGN review says the major difference is there are higher res textures at points, but it's inconsistent and there is pop in...which just looks worse than having everything nice and even.

And 360 version had bad slowdown unless you turned vsync off, but the tearing in the game was awful with it off. I don't know how the PS3 version compares there. PC version has been amazing so far (surprise!)

Chaos Theory was the big exception to the rule for me with Ubi last generation. They tore apart everything else: Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, completely transformed. But this one actually improved, became more tactical and had more choices with each new game. Disliked Double Agent, hated what I saw of the new one (Ubi of all companies building a game around A.I., crowd A.I. at that?), but I guess they took that one back to the concept stage so who knows.

Everything they make seem to come out half-baked, and suffering from any combination of serious glitches, shitty performance and just a general sense of lack of polish (legacy A.I. issues in R6 games is by far the most aggravating of those issues). Plenty of lofty concepts and aspiration, but always seem to be released in a half-built fashion.

Sold that. I really don't get much out of PC gaming these days. I upgraded specifically for Bioshock, so I got to play it at the highest settings. I could play it on my 360, but I'm not building a games library for a system that I'm reluctant to even power up because it's so fucking loud, and has such a headache inducing UI.

What's the word on Dead Space so far, what are the differences? EA has been pretty good with multi-platform games, where does this one land?

According to Eurogamer's face-offs, EA has been fairly consistent with putting out the superior version on the 360 so the 360 version is the safe choice if you want the best graphics.

Personally, I'm waiting for the PC version. Gaming on the 58" plasma is fun but nothing beats 60fps at greater than 1080P w/8x anti-aliasing.

I don't perceive Burnout as an EA property. They bought Criterion. Same goes with Harmonix and Rock Band.

But still, EA is regaining the respect I had for them in the 80's and 90's.

I'm so glad this game has got some exposure - the developers really deserve it. People hated on it a bit at first, but the last few months it seems to have really taken off in popularity.

Yeah, honestly, past the first few minutes, when things get dark (visually), the lack of AA isn't that bad. It's only really noticeable on things in the distance. I'm sure I could notice it elsewhere if I stood still and stared, but lol.

Apparently the games are identical but the PS3 shaves off 2 seconds or so on the loading front (360 loads are already short and only happen between levels). It's really controller preference here. No mandatory install on the PS3, and it even has trophies.

The framerate is basically LOCKED. I was so impressed with that. It just doesn't drop.
