As per the WDYB thread, I picked up these today, but they're Christmas presents (one is for me):

I am INCREDIBLY tempted to play this and save Dead Space until Christmas instead (it arrives tomorrow) because I am dying for some good old light-hearted adventuring.

But I've been waiting for Dead Space all year so I think I'm going to stick with my plan and delay Fable 2 playing until Christmas.

Got to wait on this one. GHWT, RB2 and Gears mean I wouldn't get enough time on it till christmas anyway. Really looking forward to it though.

Old hat.

They came through on the co op patch though, downloaded that this morning. It was huge, took almost 20 seconds :o

It's kind of annoying that your wife's allowance is deducted based on 24 hours of game time, but you gain money from your properties based on 5 minutes of real time. So if you warp between two distance towns your wife will charge you money but you won't take in any money from the people renting your house right next to your own.

stuff like that. The tutorial part was barebones imo

Great stuff so far.  Wish I could be playing instead of doing homework.

On complaint is that it has some really glitchy animation at times and the dog always seems to get caught on stuff.

Yeah, Rose walked right through Lucien's door!

I hope she comes back in to the story, she was cool.  I'm guessing she does, if it's anything like Fable 1's twists.

It's true, and it doesn't get much better as you move on. But you wind up figuring most of it out anyway.

I prefer this to the 90 minute intro portion of Fable 1, that's for sure.

Co op is active as of today. I tried it out, it's not as bad as people were saying or as I feared. It can be awkward but it's fun.

How does the co-op work? Are the orbs all the people on my friends list? Can they just hop in? Can I turn it off?

-orbs can be changed in the settings, they are either friends only or 'everyone,' which I imagine is a sampling of random people
-i just did the same old 'invite to game.' he can't hurt allies unless I turn off the safeguard in the RB wheel, and I can kick him any time. When he joins he sets up his character and I get to decide what percentage of EXP and gold he gets to take. annoyingly, he even got 50% of my rent and owned shops, not just treasure chests. but then when he dropped out, i got all his gold back in one lump sum and he didn't get any in his pocket on his side. He thinks he might have quit the wrong way or something.
-it only takes a second for them to hop in or drop out, probably even better than SR2.

Camera is not perfect, it's completely computer controlled. it works well for combat and walking around but if you're going up a spiral staircase or behind bushes to get to a chest it can be annoying. you get special bonuses for doing combo attacks, and if either player holds RT both of you will get the experience orbs, you get into a nice rhythm with that.

I think you just need the "Come Back to my Place" expression (or whatever) that you can get from the Bowerstone bookstore, and a house. Maybe an Inn would work.

iirc I couldn't even fuck my own wife until I got that book. The bed would just prompt me to sleep.

Also, if you get your wife's pussy sopping wet, make sure you actually fuck her. There was a time when I got her super horny and then tried to go to bed, but the primary mission I was on prevented me from sleeping. So she followed me through two different dungeons, kept getting attacked by trolls and shit, and when I'd rescue her her fear rating would go up. Still recovering from that.

huge improvement over the first one.  I liked Fable 1, but this is much better.

Few questions:
--any way to get a mini map for when you're wandering around?  That seems like a huge omission.  With the second delay to pause, it's annoying to constantly go to the menu.

--any way to map item to the D-pad like in the first one?  see above.

--is there some kind vaseline filter that makes the game a little blurry or is it just my monitor ghosting a little?

1.  I don't think so.  The trail and dog thing are supposed to take care of that.

2.  Not sure

Both the controls and graphics remind me of GTA.

And the only item mapped to the d-pad are my food items, but it doesn't tell me which ones and I never use it since they make my character unhealthy.  I have carrots and tofu along with the shitty rancid fish I don't want to eat.

played for 4 hours.  Didn't accomplish much, but I had fun.

me and my friend were sitting here playing and some guy fell in love with me.  i killed him when he flirted with me and pet my dog.  Then I did community service and now people just call me a murderer :(

I had like 3 women in love with me and they're scared of me.  whores.

I still haven't had sex though.

Loved the game for a few hours.  Then I got to a game ending glitch.  I'm at "The Ritual" quest.  This is pretty early on so no real spoilers.  I have to talk to an abbot inside this room but there's a monk standing in the door way who will not move and is absolutely unresponsive.  I've done everything.  I even turned off Safe Mode and tried to kill the guy.  He still just stands there.  I checked the Lionhead forums and I'm not the only one who has gotten stuck on this quest due to glitches.  I cannot progress in the game's story without getting past this guy.

So now I put Fable II back in it's case and wait for Lionhead to release a patch.  I don't really want to go back and replay the hours I've already put into the game with no assurance that this won't happen again when I get to this part.

the controls are imprecise and the game has a weird ghosting effect going on. other than that it's seems pretty fun.

what is in the locked chest that tells you to go to fable2.com? dlc?
