Day 1 of the Resistance
« on: November 05, 2008, 11:44:47 AM »
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2125940/posts

Today, America is told that it has a new president. His name is currently Barack Hussein Obama. His history has been obfuscated and hidden more successfully than any agent in the annals of spy history. We really don't know who he is, and in light of the lack of any reliable, objective data or basic background verification, we can only infer based on his associations.

Through these inferences and foggy fragments of information, we know he was a senior ACORN operator, an organization dedicated to the destruction of the American voting infrastructure.

It would seem that the CEO of Foxes Inc. has just been elected by 51% of the hens, but strangely, there were a large number of foxes in chicken suits for the vote (not to mention imaginary and dead chickens).

For a few of us chickens who don't endorse the validity, let alone wisdom of the results of this fox-heavy faux election, there is only one course forward:

Resistance We will take pages out of all the books of all the revolutionaries in history, and add to them. We will work individually and cooperatively. We will work quietly and in the dark. We will use all tools available, and all techniques proven successful to wrest power from and devolve the abomination squatting in our structures of power.

We will all work to make Mr. Fox's position guarding our hen house both exceptionally unprofitable, and manifestly difficult.

No matter what he proposes, we will object. No matter what he says, we will gain-say him. No matter which direction he turns, we will criticize and deride him. No matter what authority he claims or exercises, we will sue and refuse and obstruct him.

With the blessings of Providence, we confidently proclaim that we are one day closer to freedom, and that the falsehoods of this monstrosity are one day closer to exposure and recompense. May we be on the side of the will of the Almighty in every effort.

This is the first day of the Resistance.

:punch :punch pretty badass.

Going John Galt
Do you ever wonder after dealing with all that is going on with the economy and the upcoming election if it's getting to be time to "go John Galt." For those of you who have never read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, the basic theme is that John Galt and his allies take actions that include withdrawing their talents, 'stopping the motor of the world', and leading the 'strikers' (those who refuse to be exploited) against the 'looters' (the exploiters, backed by the government).

Perhaps the partisian politics we are dealing with now is really just a struggle between those of us who believe in productivity, personal responsibility, and keeping government interference to a minimum, and those who believe in the socialistic policies of taking from others, using the government as a watchdog, and rewarding those who overspend, underwork, or are just plain unproductive.

Obama talks about taking from those who are productive and redistributing to those who are not -- or who are not as successful. If success and productivity is to be punished, why bother? Perhaps it is time for those of us who make the money and pay the taxes to take it easy, live on less and let the looters of the world find their own way.

My question to readers is, what are some ways to "go John Galt" (legally, of course)--that is, should productive people cut back on what they need, make less money, and take it easy so that the government is starved for funds, or is there some other way of making a statement?

This is Instapundit's wife.  Her husband seems to be sort of on the bandwagon.  I can only hope they both go John Galt and deprive us of their passive aggressive faux libertarian blogging valuable production.

is this the right's "moving to canada"?

They've got nowhere to move!  If a liberal in the US wants to go to an English-speaking nation with a modern economy and fewer crazy bigots, they've got options.

If a conservative wants to go somewhere with more respect for traditional culture and less tolerance of gays, there's always Saudi Arabia.

Threatening to go John Galt is the wussy, middlebrow version of stockpiling canned goods and weapons in a bunker.

God, Greenspan was as objectivist as they come (even belonging to Rand's close social circle), and even he admitted that it doesn't work in the real world after a lifetime of living it, and the worst financial disaster since the great depression was caused by the market's inability to self regulate. Let it die already.

As a former proud member of the Republican party (of which now I'm just a member), I say shut up to all the whiny conservatives. You had power, you screwed it up, let Obama lead for a while. If in 2010 things aren't going so well, you'll have another chance in Congress. Until then, play nice.

So the dude wants to cheat on taxes, for what reason? To make society worse, so that they can point to the result and claim (knowing fully well that they are, in fact, at the root of the issue) that the problem comes from what, "socialism?" It's really quite amazing to see such proud declarations of selfish asshole-ism.

As for this declaration in general, it seems to border on civil resistance. Which, comically, is not something one would associate with the rich, the fat and the general right. Those dumbasses have no one else to blame but themselves for this situation; they failed at operating a system using unregulated free market as a base, and now they have lost power. Of course, admitting fault isn't exactly something that is near and dear to Americans as such, and even less so to the right wing twits.

Here's the meme:  Free enterprise rewards people based on merit.  If you're rich it's because you objectively merit the rewards.  If you're poor it's because you're unproductive.  Any redistribution of wealth (or any distributive system not based entirely on private ownership) by definition is the lazy leeching off the productive.

So if the producers protest by stopping production, nothing will get done and the moochers will suffer because there's nobody to steal from via welfare.

Same underlying assumptions as all the arguments against high marginal rates or capital gains taxes: "The entrepreneur class creates all the job and wealth growth!  If you take away their incentive to make more money everyone else will suffer!"

Which runs contrary to the idea of bootstrapping, of course.  Thought you worked hard for what you have?  Turns out you're just being allowed to eke out a living by our benevolent investor overlords.  And if you so much as hint at taking another 3% of their income, they'll take their ball and go home.

It's like when people on the AM dial, not mentioning any names, say "higher taxes deincentivize people to earn more," or some such nonsense.

Only if you're a baby about it.

Joe the Big Income Earner isn't going to try to earn that extra dollar because now instead of being able to keep 65 cents of it, he only gets 61 cents of it. Never you mind that it's 61 cents he didn't have before.

But I get it. I'm sure to prove their points, multimillionaires like Rush Limbaugh and Fortune 500 CEOs will reject all compensation above $250,000 so that they'll not pay any extra tax dollars and to further drive home their points. "I'll show them liberal elites... I'll do with less!" Yeah, not happening.

I'm not taking a position on taxation one way or the other, as I tend to think we pay enough in taxes and filthy poors need to pay their fair share, too. But some of the arguments simply do not resonate.

Conservatives would probably move to Italy or the UK after a conservative government is elected in.

It's weird that all these Ayn Rand types seem to think money automatically appears and doesn't come from the savings of the 'exploiters' and the government.

Of course. Most spies have three or four books best-selling books written about their lives; B. HUSSEIN O. only has two. The average spy spends at least five years having every aspect of their lives scrutinized by the entire planet. "Obama" (if that is his real name) was only the subject of a worldwide background check for two years.

Good luck with that. I can only make it halfway through because of how longwinded it is (there are seriously 10 page monologues).

10 pages?  There's an 80 page radio monologue.

I don't think the Net Libertarians can be considered Republicans.  Sometimes they're even further to the right.

There won't be terrorist plots.  These fuckwits talk about the revolution but when Bush and Co. kept stripping away their civil liberties, they did nothing more than just empty bitching.  These are the angry distinguished mentally-challenged fellows that were fun to fuck with in high school.  Usually the guys that believe that there is "magick" in real life and have a girlfriend (if that) who has a mustache thicker than most of the boys her age.

They would shit their pants if they were arrested.

The thing is if people seriously though Obama is soicalist/muslim/atheist/terrorist etc they would do something physically about it but they know all these labels are just empty rhethoric and hence just bitch about it.

They probably believe it but they're too lazy, poor, and stupid to carry out an armed retalliation

I'm not talking about armed retalitation but protests, civil unrest, legal injunctions etc anything they could to actually stop Obama being president.

Oh.

It still involves leaving their house so I wouldn't expect too many to go for that.

That is because Obama has one great barrier standing in his way, and that is the American people.

Would that be the same American People that voted him into office? The same people that drank the Kool-Aid and voted for "Change"?

Okay sure, not ALL the American People voted for the Marxist, but the half that did - collectively - don't have two functioning, non drug addled brain cells to rub together. And while we may - AND I STRESS MAY - have some filibuster power in the Senate, too many RINO's are there for that card to be played too often.

And lets start calling a spade a spade. By that I mean democrats are now Marxists. Call them that to their faces openly and publicly - unapologetically. And if they take offense, tell em too bad.

Okay, maybe I'm being too pessimistic; by my Spidey sense is ringing off the hook. I have very real fears about the next four years. The inmates have taken over the asylum

Even if the whole government is controlled by people that are liberals, at least the constitution protects us, along with the bill of rights.

You're not getting it. Soon, the Constitution will be declared unconstitutional. Sounds bizarre, but that's the world we've just been dealt.

Eye of Unk---That picture sez it all

Looking at the carcass of a once great Nation is not easy. How did we get HERE? It must be diagnosed before we can fight the mental illness of half the population that voted THEMSELVES into slavery and by default---the rest of us.

It's been decades in the making and now the useful IDIOTS of the Left have handed the keys/military/nuclear football over to an overt MARXIST. America is not in ashes yet-- but IT WILL BE. You're not in a gulag or lined up against the wall and shot-- but YOU WILL BE. They can't wait too long otherwise the opposition will gain too much strength. They will move quickly and "snuff"out all attempts at decent.

Everything we hold dear in American life is GONE. We are at WAR and have been for some time, only few people have realized it. The talk around here along the lines of "We'll get em next time" or "better candidates", more emails etc. is USELESS. THERE WON'T BE A NEXT TIME. If you don't want to live in a hell hole where neighbors rat on neighbors to Osama BidenLaden's CSF(KGB) while people disappear never to be heard from again, then radical steps must be taken. The first step is to pull till ya hear a pop. Shake your head and face the cold hard facts of what must be done.
We are far beyond looking to the next election.

this is a bit much even for FR, maybe a troll
