Getting that pacifist achievement was tough stuff, especially in the last few levels when you have rooms filled with guys trying to shoot your lights out. But I did it. *Rocky fist pump*

Really?  I got it on the very first level, first time I played.

There's one for not killing anyone on the first level and another for not killing anyone in the rest of the game.

God how do you beat the Slime Mutant boss in level 5

Is there seriously a slime boss in this game, or is that a joke?

About to beat chapter 2 and I'm really enjoying this, way more than I thought I would... my one complaint would be with the checkpoints in the game... at times, you get a checkpoint for every little fart you make, then others it takes forever before you get a checkpoint. This was pretty apparent at the part where you had to descend down the drain, then hit the switch and make your way to the gate. Also, an indication whether or not you got a checkpoint would have been nice, too.

The entire ending sequence comes out of nowhere. It's even more abrupt than Resistance 2's ending.

The worst part of the game so far is that it has none of the fluidity and fun that the prologue and chapter 1 have.

I'm sure with practice someone who's actually playing the game will find ways to speed through any level.

I don't mind having to figure out where to go next, it's part of the fun. And if you're being chased it adds tension.

I quite like the B button hint.  I'm playing without the runner vision so during chases where I don't have time to experiment it points me in the right direction and really keeps things moving.

As long as Assassin's Creed and Mirror's Edge are released on alternate years, we should be ok.

Why? They compliment each other nicely. One is a long snoozefest, the other is a short actionpacked thrill ride.

The first time through most of the levels was broken up by trying to figure out where exactly I was supposed to go and trying to time jumps. But after beating the game and coming back to the early levels, I just flew right through them.

So do you guys think they simply wasted their time writing a story and crafting story set pieces?

No, I thought the story was okay, nothing great though. But I wish they'd done all the cutscenes in first-person 3D, rather than the awkward 2D cartoon cutscenes.

On a bit of a side note, I'd like to see them open up the world a little bit in the sequel. So, rather than being a fairly linear path that you have to figure out, you're faced with large area that you navigate to get from place to place.

Yeah, I'm starting to get sick of certain parts in the game, namely when you have a few enemies in the area, that force you to not only do everything PERFECTLY, but also find out quickly what you need to do to pass, before getting killed. In the midst of chapter 6 now, and there are plenty of parts like this in that stage. Doing the final jump at the end of the mall stage took forever for me :P

I need to get this and IU over with so I can play :rock Mother 3 :rock and :rock Vesperia :rock ... both games sound sick.

That was my initial reaction as well. The game is just beautiful; I'd be interested to see what their modified engine did with reflected colored lighting on non-white buildings, but in general there's a big, big achievement. I've heard "hyper real" tossed around as this year's marketing point for graphics, but this game is the first one that has taken the term, pulled it away from "gritty," pimp-slapped it, and put it to work as its own bitch.

This is definitely this gen's Sands of Time... fantastic platforming, horrible combat. I'm trying to get the "Test of Faith" achievement (I just melee'd my way through the whole game up to this point and figured, why not go all the way), but the encounters are ridiculous. It's not like there's even a set pattern to where enemies appear... trying to run from them, I can repeat my same path down to a tee, and sometimes I will die, other times I won't, it's ridiculous. Thankfully, there hasn't been much in the way of necessary combat, but it's still annoying, especially if you have to get away and climb on something.

Got and finished the game today. I had a bit of a feeling that I didn't really 'appreciate' all of the platforming because I ran through it too fast, but then I did my first non-demo time trial and all of a sudden saw new paths and shit.

:bow Swedes :bow2
Going to put some time in time trials tomorrow, but it's between this and Fallout 3 for my GOTY.

At the beginning of chapter 9, LOVING this game. Too bad I'm at home for the week and can't finish it right now...

Mirror's Edge is awesome for the simple fact that on a Friday night there were about nine people who could not stop watching and yelling at the game ("THERE'S A RED FUCKING DOOR, GO!") for three hours. On a Friday night. I can't name another single-player game that grab's people's attention this well.

Yup, that's where I am... so far, haven't shot anybody... Hopefully I will beat this during the week, then try for a few achievements that shouldn't be too hard to get (no hard landing, beat a level w/o getting shot at... can you do these 2 achievements on the prologue level?).

HOW DO YOU START SPEEDRUN!?!!?!

I even read the manual for christ's sake and being the usual 5 page EA manual it doesn't tell you how to start a speed run on a level you've beat.

I haven't started ch.2 yet.  Just been doing time trials and I want to speed run the prologue and ch.1 before I move to ch.2 in the story.  I almost have drone beat on the first time trial!

I love this game!!

Holy Crap, this game continues to be amazing.  I still don't see the combat complaints.  I haven't fought anyone yet.  Just been run, run, run, running the entire time.  Total adrenaline rush and the graphics are gorgeous.  Maybe best looking game I've seen this winter.

There have been like 10 guys in the first 2 chapters and I just run past them using the area to jump over them or run around them or in a small area a wall run past them or something.  On normal their shots don't seem to hit you as long as you keep moving.  The only deaths I have are from falling so far.

I'm going for the no kills achievement because ME is all about the running.  I know down the line I'll probably have to punch a few guys or something, but I'm going to try to avoid even fist fights for as long as I can.  Whenever running is an option I shall run.

The only complaint is that they are shit at guiding you. I'm on Chapter 3, where you enter Ropeburn's room and then you gotta run what appears up the wall, but then I get stuck and it tells me to go through the glass and I'm like but I cant so then the guards rush in and I get shot and die.
