Martin's comments on needing to have to take a cold shower after watching the auditions for Shae had me cracking up. Creepy old man

The sex scenes are what kinda makes me think twice about recommending the books. They're amazing, but I could see the sex scenes making people go "wtf am I reading..."

Also BrandKnew...if you can't get into it past the 100 page count...I don't know what to tell you. It's not an insta-action fantasy book, but there's enough action and intrigue to keep things fascinating imo

HBO has sent out an email and a tweet indicating that Game of Thrones will be included in their preview of upcoming shows prior to Sunday’s True Blood finale. Look for it to start at 8:40 PM. If it is anything like last time, the East Coast will get it before the West Coast. And Canada won’t get it at all. Thankfully HBO has assured us that they will post whatever they show to their site immediately after it airs. They’ve also promised a brand new Thrones promo image!

Winter Is Coming: There was no indication in the email of whether this will be a new trailer, a behind-the-scenes feature or just a re-air of the teaser. They should have enough footage to do a full-trailer, if they want to. Ran over at Westeros has heard that there apparently exists a longer trailer internally at HBO, but does not know if they plan to air that this Sunday or not. Personally, I’m hoping for a full trailer, but I’d also be plenty excited to see some behind-the-scenes stuff. I doubt they would just re-air the teaser, but I guess it is possible. Either way, we’re definitely getting a new photo, so only two more days until new Thrones media!

Truth. It's hard to get past her being THIRTEEN in the first book. Once you realize that and the sex starts it kills the book.

Jaime looks good in his proper armor. Mollifies some reservations when he was cast (just based on headshots). I still think pretty boy actors who can act like douchebags (at first) are a dime a dozen and don't know why he was picked. I always got "man model" vibes from the books, which let you underestimate the character at first.

They aged her up to around 18, same as the actress. Pretty much everyone has been aged up, and they've changed the time line to accompany it; Game of Thrones happens 15 years after a rebellion that dethrones Daenerys' father, but in the series it'll be 20 years or so.

The character most ruined by being aged up is Robb Stark imo. In the first book he's about 15, in the series the actor looks 18-20. Robb goes through so much as a kid, and that sense of a kid being thrown into a deadly adult situation will be lost.

Looks like Jaime's confrontation with Ned occurs in the middle of the day, instead of at night. A bright mid day battle kinda ruins the suspense of that moment. Plus it's kinda odd that Ned and Littlefinger would leave a brothel at that time lol
