Sega is closely tracking North American and European sales. They'd like to make a sequel, but people need to buy the first one. We're getting ALL the DLC levels early next year, though.

In other news that makes me believe that Sega is aiming Valkyria to be the new Sakura Wars, Aniplex's A-1 studio is gearing up to create an anime series for Spring 2009.

I did my part bought the game and the guide. Love the art style of this game. The depth of this game is really something else. Its both simplistic and yet challenging. Not so much frustration, but rather there's multiple ways to go about completing a match. The classes are nice and varied as well. I'd been stalking the japanese copy of the game at my local import store for a while when I didn't have a ps3. I was happy to hear about it coming out here. Picked my copy up day one full price!

I did my part.  I got my copy today in fact.

how does the DLC work?  Are they extra missions that you can tackle aside from the main game, or is there a skirmish mode you unlock later that they add on to (I haven't unwrapped my copy yet)?

Extra missions.

The Japanese version of Valkyria Chronicles had two downloadable packs. The first was a side story episode starring Edie, and the second one places players in the shoes of the villains against the protagonists. There was also an Extra Hard skirmish mode. The prices for these packs were 600 yen (US $5.60), 800 yen (US $7.50), and 300 yen (US $2.80), respectively.

Not selling :(

Already had price drop on Amazon, probably 40 everywhere by December.

Valkyria can be purchased for $45 at Circuit City, and it's much longer than Mirror's Edge.

serious talk... this or Mirror's Edge?

I loved both demos, but I'm poor and can only afford one game this month! :'(

what will it be?

Well you know what I will say. Valkyria!

Sega is so stupid that they put out an awesome looking game like Kenzan and don't bother to bring it to America and instead make two shitty Wii Sonic game instead of one.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm feels like a sonic game half the time.

Sega +/-

+ for making Thunder Force VI
- "whats that?  The rest of the world wants it too?  Nah, they ain't getting that shit.  Here, try The Conduit and gimped Samba for the Wii."
+ for bringing over Yakuza 2, with flipping subtitles even.
- "Kenzen?  Pshh!  Who wants that?  Hey, people do want a new, shitty, single player Golden Axe, right?"
+ Why yes, we ought to be Platinum Games' new sugar daddy.
- "hey Creative Assembly, now that we own you, you really should be making more action games.  Because you're so fucking good at action games."
+ House of the Dead Overkill
- "Hey, do we got any other light gun shooters we could be putting out, any of these ones here collecting dust, they still good?  Eh, I guess not."
+ "Dude you guys are getting a sequel to Nights, after only waiting a decade or so."
- "It will turn out to be some sort of warped, cursed monkey paw summoned new version of Nights.  Enjoy!"

and so on, and so on, and so on.  They make me happy, they make me sad.
