I'm probably going to buy Underworld tomorrow when I go to get Judgement anyway. I'll try the demo one more time. Those boring platforming only segments of Mirror's Edge made me realize how good Tomb Raider platforming is.

I already know the combat will be bad, but they aren't making that the focus of the game.

I agree that Soul Reaver is incredible (on a related note, I'd probably stab someone for a re-imagining of Blood Omen done by Bethesda), but Ubi Montreal is still great. I had no idea they made both Sands of Time and the original Splinter Cell.

Legend was pretty good. As a Tomb Raider neophyte, I quite enjoyed it. I recall being highly impressed with the PS2 graphics.

PS2. The Wii version had frame rate issues and the added minigames were supposed to be stupid IIRC.

The Wii version adds a flashlight but the controls add in motion (never good for exact moments) and framerate problems. The new minigames are a lil dumb.

Yes, the 360 version of Legend runs like shit (constantly dips below 30 fps) in HD, but if you set your system to 480p, it's a pretty solid 30 fps. The original XBOX version, which certainly looks less impressive, runs at 60 fps. The PC version isn't all that good either, however, as it still has minor issues even on more powerful PCs today.

Well, I suppose it's not really inferior as you can play it in 480p in order to get a smooth framerate (30 fps, though). It's just that, at 720p, the game has constant, severe slowdown. It rarely holds 30 fps.

It's still a good game, though.

Finished.

Great platforming, some pretty amazing graphics in instances, story was wtf, shooting is garbage. It's a light game, you just play it easily, tone down the enemy shit, and just enjoy Tomb Raiding.

Some weird physics shit happening though from time to time. Anyway, Liked Legends more overall, as it felt more like a "feature" game, while this one feels more like some low key installment.

Bring on Prince of Persia.

i enjoyed this tomb raider quite a bit. there where a few glitches and poorly designed areas (such as the last one that you can totally fuck up by destroying the pillars out of order) that hurt the experience, but overall it was still pretty good.

since the last tomb raider game i played was angel of darkness i didn't get wtf was up with the story/characters in the game.

The story was rebooted in Legend.

You can't destroy them out of order, but you must destroy the bottom two before the last. I actually did the same thing the first time and thought I was stuck on the top ring but you're not.
