The only thing I like about the battle system is the fact there's no levels, which was neat, and the attack system with the percentages.

Oh yeah that guy. That guy had the masamune or something didn't he? That fight was fuck awesome. As much as I couldn't stand most of CC's battles, some of the boss fights were fucking brutal.

the boss with the masamune was dario, glenn's brother. you fought against him to get the mastermune though, not glenn's sword. the mastermune was the main character's best weapon 'cause of criticals or something.

some of them are. CT was Square's biggest project at the time, it basically took the place of FF7 SNES (which was also in development at one point) and most of the FF6 team worked on it along with some other people. After CT's release the team split up with some working on FF7 (and then 8, 10) and others joining a team which was originally set up with the intention of making a CT2, but wound up making Xenogears first. That's the team that made CC and later merged with the PE2 team and part of the Legend of Mana and Brave Fencer Musashi teams to make FFXI.

It had great music, awesome graphics at the time, with varied environments and locales, a fun, unorthodox battle system, which broke away from several JRPG conventions, and a crazy roster of characters. The story was convoluted crap, but who plays JRPGs for the story? Real talk. It definitely craps on the overrated FFVII.
