It's not surprising when you think about the pricing dynamics. As pointed out in other threads, the PS3 has been selling all year at a lower average selling price versus the same months last year, so they've been showing improvements versus 07. November, that changed. It was $399 last year, same as this year. Hard to show improvements when the price is static and you don't have a megahit on your hands (see: Wii).

well, you can get a 360 for $200 less (let's say $160 less for a complete 360 with one of those refurb 20 gig HDD packages)

you can get a wii for $150 less

both those come with games, so if money is a bit tight at least there's a pack-in to play

what parent is going to drop $400 on a system that doesn't even include a game, when they can get a system that plays 90% of the same games for $199
