Looks decent, but I'm not entirely sure about the mix of serious drama and cheesy comic book stuff. Could work out okay in the full movie though.

Looked okay, but I'm not a Wolverine/X-men fan. Will probably see anyway.

And yes, Gambit looks fucking terrible.

I would have preferred a smaller scale Wolverine movie without overblown action scenes - like nearly every fucking action scene in the trailer. He's not Spiderman

It looks alright. Again, not really a Gambit OR a Wolverine fan, but I will definitely give it a shot.

Then again, I did give three X-Men movies a shot. SMH.

You were right the first time.  This looks as generic as comic book movies get.  I'm not sure what's in there that you can parse as distinctly awesome. If your first reaction to this is "awesome," it simply means you are easily distracted by shiny things and quick editing, like a kittie cat or some such.

Okay, seriously, let's think about this for a moment.

Wolverine is a kick-ass guy who heals quickly and basically kicks everyone's ass. He was a badass before he got the powers.

Spider-man was a high school geek before he got the powers. He swings around on webs and is known as the "friendly neighborhood Spider-man."

Which one of these two fucking superheroes is going to get a movie with a ton of over the top action sequences, guaranteed, no matter who's directing it?

Fuck, I'm surprised Michael Bay wasn't called in on this one.

No i'm distracted by characters i like being brought to life in a fashion that makes me remember what's great about the comic books they are based on.

If you don't like X-Men, popcorn action, comic book movies, then this movie isn't for you. But heck, you only shat on TDK, so who gives a fuck.

With a bit of luck you will be one of those who say Hellboy 2 was > other comic book movies this year, please be it so.

You're forgetting something: Spiderman has superhuman strength and agility. Him jumping past moving trains or attacking helicopters actually makes sense. Wolverine wears most enemies down

Considering the wise crackin nature of Deadpool, and how he's supposed to be lean and agile, i would say Vin Diesel would've been an horrible choice. Reynolds was like the clear choice, from the fans and from the director.

I'm still waiting for a X-Men movie to have:

-Sentinels
-Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister
-Post-apocalyptic future

Or some combination of the three.

That's not the way he's portrayed in the comics, he's a huge muscular dude.

And I get what PD is saying. Wolverine is supposed to be a proponent in hand to hand combat. He doesn't have energy blasts, he has claws suited to close combat.

It's X Men....have you ever read an x Men comic in your life? Wolverine goes through the wildest shit.

Interpretations of the character give him ridiculous muscles, just like Spiderman was beefed up to shit in the Mcfarlane run. Doesn't take away the fact that, Deadpool, in a real life adaptation can't be have that sort of look. Mind you, Reynolds is fucking ripped, but he's lean enough to be agile. Vin Diesel would look all sorts of wrong.

So what, Wolverine can take out a Sentinel in the comic books, and movies too. When Colossus throws him around does that suddenly make it "omg so stupid"? Does the guy have to stand in the ground at all time?

Stupid complaint imo. He didn't "jump" with the power of his legs.

I shit on Hellboy 2.  I liked the first half more than I expected, but it fell apart fast in the second half.  And I stand by my assessment of TDK.  I think the first movie is better.  OMG I have a different opinion than you.

The irony is that you came out guns blazing questioning my opinion, and then you shield your own behind the fact that it's an opinion.

And Willco, you miss the point, who cares if a trailer is the best edited trailer in the world!? What we can take away from this trailer, is given that it's an adaptation, we are able to appreciate some of the things being done with the characters.

And that' what's exciting. It's not that the trailer by itself is amazing.

The trailer is generic and the film looks insipid.  Maybe you can appreciate the fact that Fox is going to take your hard earned cash for a mediocre adaptation of a character that's already been filmed several times over (in those Wolverine films poorly masquerading as X-Men installments), but I certainly can't.

X-Men 3 wasn't actually as shitty as I was expecting it to be.  I went in with pretty low expectations, and I definitely needed them, but I didn't come out hating it, really.  I mean, it was pretty bad, but it was definitely better than Superman Returns, which was (I believe) the other superhero flick that summer (right?).

I imagine Hugh Jackman puts on the mutton chops to furnish his harem with whores and gold furniture, because he's too good of an actor to be stooping for Fox.

I knew it would be blah when I heard how quick the turnaround was on making the movie.

They have already done his "origin" in X-men 2. It would have been much more interesting to set it in Japan like his first (comic) mini-series was. Samurai's, ninjas, betrayal, the death of a loved one .. it's all there.
