Malazan = a series of books by Steven Erickson.  You won't have to wait forever to read a new one, either!  Erickson doesn't sit around in pizza parlors with his thumb up his ass instead of writing books.

i used to borrow fantasy novels from this friend of mine. i remember one about giants and a young king arthur or something that went into mortifying detail about the voluntary vaginal spasms some highly coveted whore was capable of producing during sex. i swear there was even some special epithet applied to women with this ability, though i can't remember what it was. it's like...i was 12 and any description of sex should have been titillating, but even then it was embarrassing
