Actually, I "blame" the nuclear bomb. Sounds like my data entry/dispatch/clerical/etc. job at Ford on the weekends. I worked nights for the the first few months, so it was like that for forty hours a week.

Feels like as I get older, no one wants to go out. Last time I went out for NYE was like 4-5 years ago at the nearest fairgrounds which was pretty crazy. I'm pretty proactive about trying to set something up, but yeah, everyone I know is super half-assed about it these years. No one wants to deal with the crowds and the parking and the getting killed by drunk drivers. If I end up staying in I think I'll do what I did last year and at least be logged into an MMO for the midnight stuff just so can celebrate a bit online with others. I hate just sitting on my butt at home alone when the clock turns midnight. Feels so fucking zzzz.

Best New Years I ever did was spontaneously drive up to the mountains, stopping halfway to put chains on the tires, with a gal and rent a cabin at a motel with a vacancy and chill and watch tv and then go out and enjoy the snow at midnight. Since it never snows down here, it was something different and cool. That was like 20 years ago and I still remember it

She invited herself round for new years...and I've basically put her off by saying my work and daughter come first (absolutely true) and that I can't get childcare (kinda true - it'd be a hassle).
