yeah when I was 13-14 I used to skate everyday during and after school. running away from security guards, getting your board all up your nuts while attempting to do a hardflip, good times!

I suck at it, but really enjoy messing around on a board. It's pretty cool that SKATE emphasizes reasonably realistic skating, as opposed to TH's outrageous stunts.

Skate is easy, but you have to beg for people to vote on your video/pic to get an achievement (get X thing rated 20 times). Dunno how the community is, I imagine it got a boost since the demo.

Dunno how Skate 2 is. Shouldnt be too bad.

I haven't really played a skateboarding game since TH2, but from the demo I can see why people think Skate is awesome. I think I'll pick it up Skate 2 eventually, the control system is great.

yeah, wow, this game is amazing. I played 3 hours straight of online with a few other people. The Hall of Meat multiplayer is like crash mode in Burnout.

lol @ his complaint of it being too hard to keep speed on vert, go look up any poolskating video on youtube and youll see why hes doing it wrong, your supposed to kind of ride it like a wave-not pump back and forth in a straight line

you can pump by either holding the L trigger, forward or the left analog, or back on the right analog. It's really not that hard to understand that you need to be down when going up, and standing when launching

and wtf, the game was 30 fps last year, now it's 60. Sounds like engine improvement to me.

Also has anyone else had any trouble with the Oi, lets Skate pro challenge? Its the one where you have to handplant a rail on a walk way above the vert ramp. I can get my dude up there but he never fuckin grabs the rail, I only end up nose-stalling

edit: you have to press ^ on the LS while simultaneously pressing RB just before you pop off the lip of the ramp. any later and it will not register

I wonder if that's because your skater's skills don't change through the game, so it's not like you constantly have access to new moves and abilities as the game progresses. It's always been the thing that's both intrigued me and turned me off about skate/skate 2.
