Thoughts:

Love the stories, nice short and entertaining.

The geek talk on the netbooks was great stuff. Seeing as i'm on the fence between netbook and laptop. It was nice to hear some varied opinions on some of the aspects I most care about.

FRYS!!!!!!! (on my way to nerd nirvana soon to look at laptops and netbooks)

While were on the laptops and stuff someone make me a damn thread about them cause I need one while i'm going to college damnit.

Just finished listening, was super fun. Enjoyed Doug's story about throwing firecrackers at old people as a high school student and the netbook talk.

Neither one of you guys sounds old. FALSE ADVERTISING TOTAL

And Eel, you do NOT sound as southern as I do. Not even close.

The last time I went into a CC was to buy my currently-broken headset. The last I bought from CC before that was a new copy of Alien Front Online for Dreamcast at full price the week it came out.

people hate my voice :(

i will sound much less southern next time

i was excited and stressing over whether skype would crash or the recording would stop and we wouldn't notice it for fifteen minutes (we had some glitches during the test recording)

and when i get anxious out comes the gomer

i let a friend listen to some of it and he was all "wtf girly redneck"

i did a couple of test recording podcasts back in 2007, this is how i normally sound - www.fullofwinpodcast.com

Diving is a unique aspect of Ar tonelico's gameplay experience. By visiting a Dive Shop, the player can enter a Reyvateil's mind, also called a Cosmosphere or a Soulspace. The Diving experience shares many similarities with Japanese visual novels, which puts great emphasis on dialogue and character development. The player spends Dive Points to enter different locations within the Cosmosphere.

In order to enter deeper levels of the Cosmosphere, the player must improve their relationship with the Reyvateil by gaining Dive Points from combat and having conversations with her while resting at inns and camps.

Despite being similar to a visual novel, the objective is not to date the Reyvateils, but to help them resolve their inner doubts and concerns. Doing so will allow the Reyvateils to craft new Song Magic as well as unlock new outfits, which acts like improved equipment in battle. Many of the outfits are based off Japanese Moe-Archtypes from more familiar ones such as school uniforms, to things like Nightshirts.

I would have liked to hear what Doug's wife thought of it on the big screen TV.  :lol

I enjoyed the podcast, but my one complaint is Professor Prole's voice didn't come in quite as clear.  Would like to know more about Netbooks and also more about the mouse you guys were talking about.  Loved the retail horror stories, I can certainly identity with that!

There are two Fry's locations in Atlanta, but I think they are different from the ones out on the west coast.  I have only been to one of them, but it didn't have that warehouse feel to it.  Reminded me more of Media Play...

that would go so well with the pick-up artist segment

thanks for the kind comments about my grits voice, everyone - i am probably so self-conscious about it because i worked really hard to get rid of it when i was in local theater years ago

but all right, i just won't worry about it

i am trying to get google talk working for voicemail (it emails voicemails to you, so it's easier to save the audio files), but the sonofabitch won't launch for some reason

i may just pay for the skype voicemail

I thought it was pretty good.  Eel sounds like the paige from 30 Rock, except less gay.

The netbook discussion was interesting, but ultimately it turned me off of buying one.  It sounds like they're a hassle no matter how you slice it.  I will hold out for Windows7 + hardware T&L + touchscreen.  When do "real adults" have time for netbook gaming anyway, though?  I can barely find much opportunity to use my DS....and half the reason I play it is because it's got so many exclusive games.
