I looked through the thread and most of the responses are "what the hell do you do in this game?" . Which to be fair would be the same response I would get if I made a thread on a Paradox Interactive game.

I'm not really sure what I just played, but I know two things.

1. It was kinda fun.
2. LOTS of drugs were involved in it's creation.

From what I've played so far, you move Boy around the level eating stuff. But you have to make him bigger before you can eat more stuff, or he just poos it out. You're supposed to make him as large as possible and then report the size to Girl who is up in space, making her way to the moon.

My one complaint is that there isn't a separate button to eat stuff. Everything is done using the shoulder buttons and the six-axis functionality.

It's really hard to explain the game, slime. You're basically a weird elastic creature. You can eat suff and become larger/longer. While doing that you can manoeuvre through objects and grab them with your body. You can even zoom out until you reach the space.
The intro was funny lol.

Just read the Eurogamer review:

9/10

Don't do drugs when you listen to this song. Holy shit.

hmmm, i guess this sort of thing isn't for me.

I like the drugged out crazy side of things, but again, i'm not seeing much point of going back after wrapping my huge long boy around a load of items and ate/pooped a bit.

I play each level for a few minutes and then head back to the house for a new randomly generated play area. I'll be interested to see what the levels on the moon and Mars are like once Girl reaches them.

Quote
and why on earth is EAT and JUMP on the same damned button?!

The idea is that you hold the button to eat, and tap it to jump. But you know what? That's bullshit. The face buttons aren't being used for anything in this game. They should've made X the eat button.

It's not waggle based. You do most everything with the two analog sticks and the shoulder buttons. However, you hold L1 and tilt the controller to move the camera in and out.

Great style, cool idea of making perspective the focus of a puzzle game, really boring final result.

and 30 more minutes, still no clue what the hell Noby Noby Boy is.  I did clothesline two people driving in a car, then someone stole their car and drove into a pyramid.  I also went to a level where there were tricycle eggplants driving around inhabited entirely by rabbits and midgets.

Crush is great.  Actually, it's one puzzle game where solutions kinda just happened, but didn't feel too planned (example of puzzle game with too much planning: Braid...snore)

I played a ton of Crush and a ton of Echochrome, I like both but prefer Echochrome.

Crush got waaaay too difficult towards the middle/end and the levels took forever to figure out.  I liked Echochrome because the solutions were non-linear.  There'd be a dozen ways to solve the puzzle if you messed around and were creative.  I dunno, once I got the hang of the controls in Echochrome I really liked it.  Probably top3 PSN game material for me personally.

I really can't tell wtf is going on in the youtube vids.  I loved Katamari Damacy, but this... This looks like your stranded on a small plot in a void and go around eating things. You can tangle yourself up (why) and have people jump on your back. It confuses me more than anything.

Yeah if I didn't know that there was some loosely-connected way of progression/getting new levels I'd have dismissed this as an odd, tech-demo style release in the same vein as say Stretch Panic.

My gf loves it. My brother laughs at my face for playing shit like this. I like it. :-\

It's not a game to play for hours long, though. But the game can be fun for a long period of time. I think I can always boot this game up when I'm bored.

Now you know the true horror of Noby Noby Boy.

The developer was definitely dual donging when he came up with the concept. The women in the game also have big boobs.  :o

Another review:

IGN

Quote
9.0 Presentation
Simple, self-contained and gently insane. It's full of beautiful touches and tiny secrets.
7.0 Graphics
It's the physics rather than the graphics that got the most attention during Noby Noby's development, but its style is thoroughly charming.
7.5 Sound
Lovely acoustic noodling is the perfect accompaniment to the gameplay.
9.0 Gameplay
Controls take a while to get the hang of and the physics throws things off occasionally, but Noby Noby is ultimately effortless fun and uniquely engaging.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
It's extraordinary value for money, and it may be months till we see what new planets have to offer. There's also plenty of room for expansion in the future.
9.0
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

I know you're sort of just being cynical, but the reason why you want to eat all that stuff and get longer is because you want to get to the moon and see what's there along with 10k+ other gamers.

The drive is that you're all working together towards an eventual goal of exploring the unknown universe.  By yourself, your 5,000 meters aren't going to do much in the scheme of 300 million needed to the moon, but combined you are making a difference.

Noby Noby Boy is really just Folding@home but with eating children and donuts

Score doesn't mean anything but to say it has great gameplay and good lasting appeal because it "might" get better in the future is fucking distinguished mentally-challenged. No wonder this industry is fucked

I think it has good lasting appeal because the levels are randomly generated and there are SO MANY OBJECTS packed into the game so you keep seeing new crazy stuff and at least so far it hasn't gotten old.  I mean one guy on gaf got a level where roman Spartans were flying helicopters.

As for gameplay....I think it's pretty subjective here.  In terms of "commands" there isn't a lot to do, but there is a lot you can do if you want.
