TVC15 Dissociative Fugue World Tour 2009
« on: March 23, 2009, 06:57:56 PM »
Once all my auto woes have been paid off, I have decided to rip off some very good friends of mine and drive down US 101/Pacific Coast Highway.  I shall drive until I can no longer recall who I really am and then I will do what comes naturally.

I am looking for advice on the trip.  Things to see.  Whatever.  I will be driving alone, too, so stimulants will be routinely used.  As will my precious, precious ambien.

It's the saddest mall in all existence. It's really worth visiting just as a reminder of how sad it must be to live in Aberdeen.

The wife and I are headed out to our cabin in Westport next weekend, we plan on stopping by.

You sound like you want to set up a competition, child.  I can guarantee, sight unseen, that I have seen sadder thins in Pennsylvania.

So no Dr. Who pinball?

I would need to hit Oregon.  Portland might be a possible day one stopping point.  Can I stay at your place?

I believe you. But! For Western Washington, it's pretty sad.

Go to Oregon for pretty pictures, especially their coastline. Much better than Washington.

I will bring some sort of video camera.  Not a patch of skin will be missed.  No pore shall go unexplored in lurid and mildly off-putting detail.

I do want to get pictures of some of those creepy Christian anti-Seattle billboards that are on the side of the road as you go south.

Astoria in Oregon has The Goonies house and setting

Eureka is home to the wayward lost souls who want to disappear from the world and perhaps smoke a lot of pot.

I think Ft Bragg/Mendecino is doable from 101. Cliffside beaches, good photo area.

Santa Cruz and Monterey

Solvang is a dutch town

Oh and Petaluma has some nice fields for photos and near wine country for drunken debauchery

I want distantmantra to come along as my sort of Doctor Phil.  Ask Doug, I clearly can't take care of myself and I haven't spent more than a day straight sober in more than a decade.  Distantmantra, I need you to come along and make sure I do not die until the time is appropriate.

Even better, distantmantra.  We make this shit educational.  I sign up for the online version of the social psychology course, and I apply my adventures to my learnin'.  What better way to learn social psychology than to drive up and down the coast and have people react to our wasted wrecked bodies?

Once upon a time, now that's just veneer. You're better off riding It's a Small World at Disneyland than going to that place these days.

Still hitting up Coachella?

No, I can't do hot festivals.  Plus I don't even know when I'm doing this.  Being that I just registered for spring classes, it won't be until July/August.
