I started installing this around 5 this afternoon, and thought I had all the crazy updating of my previous experience covered with patches I had previously downloaded and saved for future reinstalls

but oooooooooooooohhh no

turns out there were around ten more patches to download, and in the last download I had to install some sort of bullshit torrent client which moves at a crawl

it's now quarter to 8 here, and I'm still not finished

i give up, fuck this game forever, I'm uninstalling it

company of heroes was a good game they fucked into a bad game with too many patches and a bunch of bullshit hoops you have to jump through just to play it

Maybe one of the patches has free maps.

The problem was that they stuck with a system of dependent updates and never moved to a cumulative update plan-right now there should be a cumulative update for CoH to OF, CoH to Tales of Valor, OF to Tales of Valor, and any patches released on top of the Tales of Valor version to the current live update.

I haven't bought it yet. I was a HUGE fan of Dawn of War (played it to death) and don't like how glaringly limited the metagame was in beta and haven't looked at it again ever since. I just didn't think that it demanded enough meaningful decisions from the player in 1v1, it's a much better game in 3v3 but I'm not a fan of team multiplayer.

because thats the only version that works with hamachi

If I wanted the superior experience I would have just got the 360 version instead. But the acheivements suck so I dont want it on my gamercard. PC version it is

Still will get it one day when it's a $9.99 steam sale or something. I still have to play Dawn of War I and expansions which I got for $9.99.
