Listened to Distant Relatives the whole way through. The first half of the album has some terrible production, aside from As We Enter. Some of the beats were cheesy as fuck and made me want to puke. Thankfully the second half picks it up.

Finally got around to listening to the remastered Exile On Main St last night. Was only gonna listen to a couple songs since it was like 4:10am, but I wound up listening to the entire album (didn't listen to the unreleased tracks). Sounds amazing. I forgot how good the album is

Ah I see. I didn't like Let It Bleed the first time I heard it, and complained about the amount of country songs on it. I appreciated it more as I got into folk/alt country more.

The US versions of Out of Our Heads and Aftermath are also both very strong beginning-to-end if you're into their R&B and soul influenced originals and covers.

And I think Some Girls is slept on far too often; that album is easily as good and consistent as any of their late 60's/early 70's records.

Oh James. Fuck, man - both of them were so influential to my music listening habits and both of them let me down greatly. and, to top it all off, they both signed my "Psyence Fiction" album cover as I stood there quivering in front of them. The gold sharpie they were using ejaculated all over the gatefold as James signed it. He responded by saying "oh" in just the coolest British accent ever.
