I did live in San Francisco, but I moved back to D.C. late last summer.

no cases in switzerland yet. guess i made the right decision to get out of america, i successfully evaded not only 2G2D but also swine flu!

even if there would be a global pandemic from this (there won't) switzerland is pretty much the best place to be in:

just out of curiosity, have any of those shelters been tested recently or had any studies done on them now with new information which may not have been available back in the day?

turns out America built it's public shelter system pretty shoddily because they didn't have all the math. Basically the LAST place you want to be in DC during a nuke strike is in a public shelter

i'm really not too sure. all i know is that in every house/apartment there's a sign or sticker somewhere that tells you where your shelter is, and that's where you go if the sirens go off. i think some shelters are probably shittier than others yeah. we've got a shelter sign in our apartment but i couldn't get a good pic of it when i just tried, sorry :/
