it's pretty good if you play it right (assuming you're playing on 360). ie. run past every enemy you see and only fight bosses and forced battles.

it's pretty bad if you play it like a normal game.

Eh, I think 95% of the people played it like a normal rpg and they all loved it.

I'm pretty sure you can just play it as normal and fight all the standard battles and be fine.  It seems like it's only an issue if you're going for achievements.

Man I'm sick of devs putting totally pointless collectables in games. Oh well, at least they make funny sounds when you shoot em

Splatterhouse has tits? Is it like a horror movie, in that if the tits are shown, the bearer (barer?) of those tits must become a victim?

Daaaaaamn that ship in ME2's Shadow Broker DLC was cool. Nice piece of content there.
I hope ME3 has more areas this impressive. I took a bunch of screens (uh spoilers)... really enjoying this new Steam feature: http://steamcommunity.com/id/patrickula/screenshots/

The romance stuff is pretty frustrating since I'm playing paragon. Too many choices, can't bang em all, and now I've reconnected with my girl from the first game. At least it seems you can get with the yeoman with no problems (and my fish are fed!). I'm scared if I bang another chick my Shephard will end up forever alone at the end of ME3 or something. Or married happily every after with someone I wouldn't have really preferred to stick with, heh. What to do ???

Counter-Strike Source on a gungame server.

I haven't played a versus counter strike game in ages (I play surf maps from time to time) and I was beasting hard, getting headshots and won the first few rounds  :gun

Then I played a normal match and couldn't get a single kill on the assault map  :'(

I was never great at counter strike, but damn, some older gentleman said, and I quote, "I JUST TOLD YOU SOMEONE WAS IN THE VENT! YOU SUCK DICK!" performance anxiety shit where is my inhaler

just beat Deadly Premonition on hard with all 65 cards and all 50 sidequests completed. Such a great game, I hope it is remembered as a cult classic in the years to come.

Got one cheev left in the game, beat it on Easy, but I'll probably do that in a year or two if I ever feel like replaying it.

Man, playing MvC3 right before bed scrambles my brain and puts it into a state of half-delirium, especially when I lose the very last match - it's like sensory overload combined with trying to rapidly come up with new stuff on the fly, and turning that shit off ain't easy.

I had to crawl out of bed at like 4am to sit in training for awhile for fear of going insane.  I'm running on two hours of sleep and three cups of coffee, but at least my team has a new anchor!  :spin

after that i'm going to run a small rice empire to get the 1,000,000 gold achievement and uh... then maybe i will either finish the game for ending 2,hunt for the remaining weapon or start working on the upgrade achievements

Jade Empire gets a bit of undeserved flack for the 9.9 fiasco. Had the combat been a bit less repetitive and the final 3-4 hours been a bit less combat heavy, it would probably be a lot better remembered. Of their RPGs, however, I would agree that its weakest, although I've yet to play DA2.

I was just taking a shot. Jade Empire was incredibly over-rated but I didn't think it was utterly awful. Just an over-rated game. Dragon Age 2 is pretty flawed also. They both are in the running for the weakest of the bioware rpg's.

Although honestly I would give that award to Dragon Age: Origins -Awakening. I legit thought that was weak.

I thought Jade Empire wasn't that great. Good production values, but the gameplay was extremely shallow and simplistic. The game wasn't bad, it was just extremely forgettable... hell I can be arsed to remember much about it aside from some storyline with golems, John Cleese, and a chick who was supposed to be asian but looked like a black chick.

Mass Effect is Bioware's best series :patel

i think the pixie is the only one who gets power-upped,but some monster do evolve (cue pokemon evolve jingle)

i don't remember orpheus being usefull for anything tough, heck actualy what demon is that? ???

EDIT: oh you are talking about persona 3,no i think you can fuse his ass away, but he has a decent combo move with apsaras that increase your dodge rate

Yakuza 4 is amazing. I'm almost 20 hours in and I think I'm about half way through the main story (been doing every side mission I've come across as well). Gameplay wise, it's easily the best in the series. Story wise, it's comparable to 1 and 2. I think I'll go for 100% completion on this, maybe even the Platinum (but that takes 3 playthroughs...).

Yakuza is back :bow

Then the game sends you across the sea to Kirkwall, a sprawling city that historically served as a port for slaves destined to spend the rest of their pitiful lives toiling away at dull jobs with no hope of ever escaping – a painfully ironic backstory.

:lol I liked the original on PC, but it sounds like they've taken a solid fantasy formula and royally screwed it here by having art direction led by scat fetishists and a world consisting of a single city. Sounds like a big disappointment. ME remains the best Bioware series to date :smug

I didn't finish Jade Empire, but it certainly didn't feel like a budget release like this does.  Compared to Mass Effect there is no money going towards this series it seems.

In DAO this for forgiveable due to the scope of the game, but DA2 doesn't have this excuse. Also after like 10 hours of play there still is no sign of a main story, surviving the city life feels more like material for a stand alone expansion not a sequel. Maybe if they had actually put work into making the city cool.

The combat is more dynamic, but the fights themselves aren't as exciting...

The story does pick up. Basically nothing in the first act matters except as backstory. But even when it kicks in its not a particularly great story and its still very disjointed.

When is the next big WRPG coming Demi? I dunno if I can finish this game really.

Aside from Skyrim and The Witcher 2, the other big RPG this year is Deus Ex 3. There's also Dungeon Siege 3, but that's more of hack-and-slash, Diablo-style RPG than the others.

Hunted isn't "by" Bethesda - some other third party company.

Yeah, Bethesda is just publishing it. The game is being developed by inXile, which developed that Bard's Tale game from a few years back.

I hope people aren't implying that DAO's plot or story was any decent here. Did anything meaningful happen plotwise for most of that game? Not until you arrived at the 'Landsmeet', and by then the game was almost over anyway. What it did have, apparently, was "scope" - or, in other words, a generic fantasy epicness that should bore the crap out of any self-professed gamer nerd/manchild.

But yeah, DA2 does feel restricted in comparison, and most of the quests early on do feel like side-quests. It feels like some weird quasi-GTA game where you run around doing errands for various city folk - I'm not defending any of that. But let's remember that DAO was no great shakes either. Did you guys forget the tedious Deep Roads, or the mind-numbing Fade section already? What about the numerous cave-like dungeons (were there any other kind?).

A big problem with DA2 is the abundant use of recycled environments. But there is a small solace in the fact that most of the quests that utilize these settings don't last very long, and that quest objectives are usually quick to arrive at. The quests themselves seem insignificant plotwise, but some of them are interesting in themselves, like self-contained stories. They add character to an otherwise bland city. Say what you will about the unambitious plot, but if you're gonna base a whole game around a single location you need these little insights so that the place can come alive.

I have a feeling they tried to do a Mass Effect 2 plotwise, but on a much smaller scale. Sort of like a stop-gap before things go crazy. Now this is no bad thing, but it requires nuance and time to craft, and with the nature of the recycled environments and bland locations, you can only conclude that they did not possess those requirements.

Yet I am only 10 hours in, and I am only getting more hooked the more I play - so what do I know?

played some of the new dissidia, when bebpo said that the story was better i tought he was under drugs but ehy it does actualy looks a little better! at least so far nobody has breaked into blabbering about roses nor stuff like this has happened

the story mode makes you play only new character, you start with lightining, then vaan, then laguna... i'm starting to think that this game was made by himuro, cause lightining kinda sucks but laguna is like god tier,he combo's like crazy,he's fast and he does all of this from half of the distance of all other character... the only real drawback to him seems that you have to suffer eyes on me while being on the world map,(tough on the other side you get this in dungeons) definitely going to use him for the other modes when they get unlocked

i hope this time the late game turns better,in the original the game turned into an horrible and boring dodgefest, where it was pretty much impossible to hit the CPU unless you blocked (which in turn meaned waiting dumbfounded for the CPU to act first)

You never have to guard/counter.  The moves are faster so it's less of a dodge chase.  Game is still mostly about equipment though.  Reminds me of N1 srpgs; stats are everything.

New game has a prequel campaign called "012" about the 6 new characters.  It's 8 chapters and about 15 hours.  Story is stupid as expected for FF, but at least entertaining.  Has a non-ending though.   Then you unlock Prishe and Gilgamesh who have little mini-stories in the reports that you unlock from finishing story chapters.

Then you unlock "013" campaign which is the original Dissidia's story mode with a world map and all the gameplay from the new game.

If you want to know how lolz the plot of Dissidia 012 is, here it is:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
The way they can keep continuity with 012 being a prequel but having 6 new playable story characters (Lightning, Kain, Tifa, Yuna, Vaan, Laguna) who are nowhere to be seen in the main Dissidia storyline,
is that the 012 story is those 6 going on a suicide kamikaze run where they all die so the characters from Dissidia have a chance to win in their later campaign

It has the entire story mode of the original with all the same cutscenes.  It also has the entire soundtrack of the original + new soundtrack (~60 & 60 for ~120 tracks).  All the characters from Dissidia are present with a few new moves and their entire movelist and character stats re-balanced.  All the costumes are there, plus new ones.  Etc...

There's not a single thing missing from the original, so yes Dissidia 012 fully replaces the original game.  That's why if you have a save from the first game EVERYTHING carries over for those characters.

Yeah, it's exactly like WKC2.
