Looped Daioujou Black Label for the first time + got a new high score

I got slaughtered right before I fought the 2-1 boss, since I have zero practice with [the brutal patterns in] the second loop. I fucked up a few chains really badly too (only 1100 max hit :| ), I should've had 300m+. Oh well. I still want to get 400+ and make some progress into the second loop before I ease off this game.

Do they? I guess they do on the site, but when displayed on the console, I think the more recent 360 games only show the Achievements for the DLC you've purchased. This POP game lists ALL the cheevs in both places though.

Beat Enslaved. Ending was kinda goofy, but whatever. That last level was BAD FUCKING ASS! Enslaved strikes me as one of those games that no one played, but will rave about like a gen or two later.

fantastic game, you should try the DLC - its very cool. Its like a mini-game in itself.

I waffled on Rygar for so long, I assumed I bought it. :'(

Finished the main story and the jackass-bad ending in Prince of Persia 2008. Apparently their title-update patch made it so everyone automatically gets the "less than 100 princess assists" and the "completed in less than 12 hours" Achievements.

I've got everything except for the "performed all possible combos" and "performed a 14-hit combo" -- not sure if those are going to be hard or not. Combat is basically an extended QTE in this, and performing a 14-step QTE is not in my bag of tricks.

Bought it a couple weeks ago, have it on standby! I'm really looking forward to it. Despite how pretty 2008 is, last-gen's PoP were much better games overall.

PoP did ONE thing right in the finale, though:

Elika is dead, laid out on the slab. When the prince goes to each of the four trees to destroy them, the approach to each dais has a jump that would be completely easy if you have Elika on hand. I didn't even think of it; I climbed up, tried to do an assisted jump, and failed -- then remembering that Elika is dead. I had become so used to that movement style, it does a good job of impressing why the Prince is really half-of-a-pair. It was a nice melancholy moment.

Other than that, the ending was silly. Everything that was so important to the main story, and the prince just tosses it into a vat of writing chaos.

I like how El Shaddai has about a hundred logos you have to sit through before you can get to the main menus.

I'm starting to like the combat in this game. It flows pretty well once you realize you have to keep your weapons purified at all times, otherwise enemies take forever to kill. Still super shallow, but good enough anyway.

since i can't make any progress with the williams pinball collection and since i liked it a lot,i decided to give a spin to the gottlieb collection... but it's just not the same thing,there are less goals,the table all feel like relics with super simple rules,it's just not the same,it's like 70% of the tables in this game are jive time

i do like black hole,teed off and victory though

PoP - last stretch. Tried the "performed every combo" while going through a checklist. Failed to pop (

), and I'm pretty sure I'm not going back for it. 930/1000 points -- good enough. Time to do something fun.

Edit: Tried again this morning, got the "all combos" after retrying a couple dubious ones, and then nailed the "fourteen-hit combo" a few tries later.

Ah, your B2G2 deal.

Don't get your hopes up too high for Conan, MAF. The one-versus-many combat is pretty fun, and works like you'd expect. When the team made the boss battles, everything LOOKS great, but some of the fundamental camera assumptions break badly, and previously established rules of behavior disappear from round-to-round.

Played some Futari Black Label Maniac mode tonight, got a new high score (408m). I died before the stage 4 boss as well, so I should be able to get 550ish with a clear with my current strategies. But anyway, Black Label Maniac sucks shit compared to 1.5. It's been dumbed down so much it's not even funny. It's a shame too, since 1.5 Maniac alone makes Futari one of the best games of all time. Oh well.

you unlock the original game after beating level 2 iirc

Splatterhouse 2 is better anyhow, more balanced difficulty. You unlock that about thalfway through the game.

Splatterhouse 2010 is OK. Not a terrible game. Good mindless fun for the most part. And CG TITS

Played a few credits of Futari Black Label Maniac just now. Got a 593,695,100 score + a clear, which put me into the top 20, which means I finally got to upload an embarrassingly bad replay. Hooray! The Larsa fight was seriously pathetic. I just bomb-spammed her to death and didn't even get any end-of-stage bonus points. Lol.

I'll probably keep playing this every once in a while. It's kinda relaxing compared to 1.5 Maniac and God mode, even though it's not nearly as good as either of them.

the new splatterhouse is the roughest game I've played in a long time. there is a platforming segment in level 3 where you just press A and Rick auto-jumps to it. I might have been moving forward when I pressed jump because he did a normal short jump, then in midair as he's falling, he zooms up to enter a qte wall breaking thing. the camera is slow and clicking the stick has a really slow 'center' function that's almost pointless. load times are so long. qtes suck; I failed one at the boss and it made me re-do that part of the boss fight. everything feels sloppy. side scrolling parts are lame.

it's still fun-ish because there's metal music constantly playing and blood is splashing everywhere and it's mindless. maybe it's because I just played Child of Eden and this is the most opposite game I could be playing. I like how cunty the Mask is. The game can be pretty funny.

a demo for Maldita Castilla came out last week and it's pretty cool. more or less Ghosts'n Goblins. right now it's too easy but hopefully the full game gets hard. http://www.locomalito.com/juegos_maldita_castilla.php

locomalito makes kickass retro games. 8bit killer is wolfenstein 3d with bionic commando's style. Hydorah is a shooter that's more like the Gradius or R-type (the types I prefer).

Went back to Red Faction: Guerrilla, which I haven't played in 2 years, according to the save data timestamp. Good grief. How did I let this happen?

Game is less pretty than I remember. I liked the desolate landscapes, but Red Dead Redemption has that angle covered, beat, spanked, and put to bed wet.

It's funny, the controls in Open World Games are largely so similar at this point, the biggest hurdle to picking them up again is remember how each one handles weapon selection.

Bosses take forever to kill because they have 5x as much health as they should have (every time I beat a boss I just want to stop playing), the levels are incredibly boring to play through since you just run down a corridor 95% of the time and occasionally press the jump button, the story is complete nonsense, and worst of all, this game has some of the most annoying collectibles I have ever fucking seen. You basically go in a circle and jump on platforms randomly, hoping to find what you're looking for. And if you fall off a platform, your game ends and you have to watch a cutscene that goes on for like 5 minutes.

Shit game.
