Finishing up Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, which is the Alan Dean Foster novelization of The Sands of Time.

Playing Thief for the first time. Um, it's awesome.

best use of 80 music in a videogame ever! :rock :rock :rock

anyway i guess i was a little unfair to the game, there are lot of cool missions (mostly the one involving stag) it's just there was a bit where the missions were so boring and dull and cut and dry and i'm really disappointed by the side-activities... i can't go for the 1000 since there is an achievement that require online but i can always stop at 990... i'll probably do everything except those challenge... those do sounds like the biggest pain in the ass ever

oh also gangsta in spaces = true ending

Glad you came around.

I had that feeling early on too, but yeah it's a game that definitely makes a name for itself by the end.

getting back into Borderlands to max out the achievements after all these years. Does anyone have an uber character that can beat Crawmerax? I could use an EXP rush...

I got the Mad Moxxi DLC on sale ages ago and just checked it out. It's fucking impossible at level 50. I'm just gonna use the low level splitscreen expolit and blow through it for the cheevs.

The boss music is fucking sweet, however:

Yay. This run wasn't very good tbh, I can get around 800m if everything goes well. But I still got #6 with her, and I beat the previous western record by 170m or so, so I'm happy for now. I just have no clue how SIN manages 1.5 billion. That guy is my hero. :bow

Casper is fun to use though. Her playstyle is almost the complete opposite of Lei, since she uses the lock-shot like 95% of the time whereas Lei milks enemies with his options, so she's a great alternative.

got all the collectibles in saints row 3,missing only 2 instances of snatch and 1 helicopter assault... i think i'm going to use my "free out of jail" card on helicopter assault because it's sooooooooooooooooooooooo boring and snatch is super easy, and then maybe i will go for all the marks and car stealed and stop there

in other news somebody i know won't stop pestering me about dark souls,so even though the game gives me bad vibes (ex. everybody talks about how hard the game is it,yet i also heard many stories of stupid exploits like "go hide in a corner and hit the mega boss with your bow until he dies") i've decided to go for it,so is there anything i should know before starting?

Dark Souls is casual. Just make sure you get the Drake Sword early, and dont fuck up your build. Basically get your basic stats like STR and END to a decent level early, then pump the majority of your skill points into your main damage dealing stat. I.e if youre a fighter pump your STR hard. An easy build is a caster. Put lots of points into INT, then forge magic weapons which scale with your INT stat.

If youre playing offline you can even resort to using the Dragon Head glitch if you need to

Just finished with chapter 5 in XIII-2. Amazing chapter, really love the story in this game. Gonna get some more fragments, beat the game, then go for the paradox endings/platinum. Any easy tips to get the 99999 damage trophy?

Odinblade + Multiple Power Bracelets

Fight Long Gui, stagger when it's down, and beat it up until the meter is about to run out. Use Yakshini (or similar SYN who has Bravery) then cast Meteor Javelin.

Might take a couple tries, so save before attempting.

Yes, I imported my save to Part 2, which meant jack shit since they bumped my characters to a level above mine, and gave them better equipment

I just couldn't force myself to play it again. Turd, turd game.

I'm right into Borderlands.

Just finished the Claptrap DLC and the boss was awesome, easily the best story, content and locations out of all the DLC and the main game.

I'm level 60 now and finally got a beast as fuck Legendary Revolver, "Pestilent Defiler". Fucks up pretty much everything. Almost ready to take on Crawmerax

I liked that they included "Unique Jumps" but didn't make them count toward the 100%. SR2 had 72 of them, I think, and There was one which you could perform without it acknowledging that it had been performed (Marina: underground parking garage ramp to 2nd floor office building windows). Unfortunately, there was no "Already Performed This Jump" message, so it was really frustrating trying to figure out which one I'd missed or forgotten.

Actually, the "jump rings" in Crackdown were great for that. There were Rings all over the place, so if you didn't se a ring, you'd cleared that Unique Jump. I wish more games used that model.

Go up, not down.

you guys should have been more specific... i went "up" and it was full of skeletons which were super hard to kill and i tought the game was being "HUR DUR SEE IT'S HARD" but then i discovered i was just going into the wrong place >:(

uh anyway i started with a warrior, since it seemed to feature mostly the stat i wanted (the other option would have been bandit but the village people look exuded a "i get killed easily" aura) i went, killed the first boss and got the drake sword as suggested,so far so good but i'm annoyed by a few things... losing all your souls when you die is stupid,it's meant to put a heavy price on death and cause tension but it just force me to grind near a bonfire because otherwise i can only spend my souls once in a blue moon

i don't like the fact that equipment breaks either... my longsword got all fucked up and i was lucky i got 2 other from drops but if they didn't drops what the heck was i supposed to do? hit the enemies with a chump weapon? at this point i'm not even sure i can use the drake sword without worrying... i wouldn't want it to break on a key moment

mmm anyway is there any achievement that i can end up missing? can i murder NPC without fear of consequences? i heard they drop sweet loot
oh and i'm just distinguished mentally-challenged and i can't find it in the menu or is there no map to use? cause a map would have easily solved my skeleton problem at the beginning

Played through Dear Esther a few times. More an interactive poem/literature than game. Enjoyable though and I found myself going back looking for spots I missed or new items or narratives.

Also started playing Brawl Busters once it was put on Steam. It's a Powerstoney F2P. There's nothing necessary for competing in the game that costs money. All upgrades can be earned through in game currency you earn by playing. There's five classes and a leveling system. Level design for the maps is pretty good, as there's only one map I dislike. They have multiple routes and levels. The one problem seems to be level and class balance. Just a couple levels difference makes a huge difference for some reason. Upgrades unlock at certain levels. Plus, you have to earn enough of the in game currency to buy new armor and upgrade it. You can upgrade each weapon and piece of armor maybe three times? But then it comes to a game of chance on whether it upgrades, destroys the item or downgrades the item. You can only protect against the negatives by purchasing in-game currency that is equal to real money(The two are separate.) And class balance in deathmatch is mostly a battle between three classes, with the football player and rocker on the outside. The Slugger and Boxer dominate, with the firefighter serving some utility purposes. While in the zombie survival mode thats PVE, Rocker tends to dominate with its aoe.

No achievements are missable, since it will take at least two playthroughs to get all of them. There are important items related to achievements that only have one or two spawns in the world though, so try to explore thoroughly. You can kill NPCs if you want, but they stay dead for the rest of the game, and sometimes they are important. I wouldn't kill anyone unless you're sure you'll never need them again. And there's no map.

Oh, and be sure to buy a repair box from the Blacksmith before the two gargoyle bosses.

GTAIV

Oh my god. Fuck you and your children, Rockstar.

Three Loaf Clover. Again.

I get out of the train station, make up to the street level. I steal a car. I look at my map when I notice only one of my partners gets in the car with me.

"Wait. That dumbass is still down in the subway channel? Fuck this game."

So I bail out of my car, go down stairs, see one of my incompetent partners, he RUNS AWAY FROM ME and runs further into the Subway passage. What the ever fuck?

He finally decides to tag along and but then I realize the cops follows us down in the subway stairwell. I fight cop after cop, with little health and end up dying.

20 minutes down the drain, no check points, you don't even start at the bank but have to drive back to the bank all over again.

I'm starting to remember why I started to loath this game.

my orientation really sucks... i killed down a giant butterfly but i can't find this gargoyle boss anywhere :S
is he somewhere around the church with the fire keeper souls?
the butterfly dropped some magic ember or something... can i just give this to the blacksmith without worrying?

uh anyway i got the boar helmet and on road to the butterfly i found a spiffy new armor,i upgraded the main body as it gave a great total of +8 defense but to be fair,i'm not sure it's doing much to cover damage
so far i got vitality to 14,strenght to 16 and endurance to 16,i haven't put points in any other stat... good enough for now?

If you're making a melee character, then those stats are fine. You should decide what type of melee you want though - strength is good for the slow, hard-hitting weapons, while dex is better for quick ones (generally).

And yes, give the embers to the blacksmiths whenever they ask for it. Those allow you to make enchanted weapons or unique ones (with souls from bosses). The gargoyles are in the church as well, they're guarding the first bell you're supposed to ring.

Put in some decent time into Risen... up to Chapter 2. I have no idea what this game is trying to do. My guy washes ashore, and he still chats to people like "gibe money" then he's like "yes i will do it" cause he really has no idea why. I'm still level 1 or whatever cause I have to store my LP. Yet it doesn't seem to matter. I like dragging enemies to the NPCs and having them be meat shields.

This game is kind of doodoo overall though. I hope Risen 2... well, I hope Risen 2

the game world isnt that big, and all the areas are so distinctive you can always tell where you are.

You need to go to the depths now, which is past where the Capra Demon is.

This is an easy part to get lost on IIRC. I believe you get a key from one of the bosses you killed, and you need to read the description of the key so you know where it's used. The door is in front of the bridge with the fire breathing dragon.

Since I was held back from my camping trip starting yesterday so I picked up Crysis 2. I had played a bit of it but never finished it. If only more FPS games were like it in terms of story/pacing. Weapons are limited and can be annoying at times but the main game is great. I loved the soundtrack for it too, that main theme!

I'm kinda depressed they didn't try harder to make SP dlc or make a 3rd game. They aren't rushing to make a 3rd one from the sounds.

Brother brought home Saints Row 3 so I played that for a few hours... it's probably the most fun I've had with one of these games since the original GTA3, and a million times better than 4, even if technically it's a disaster.

-screen tearing is ridiculous and graphics are Xbox 1 level
-great mission variety so far, even if a few of the missions overstay their welcome a tad
-music selection is interesting - no where near GTA in terms of name power (seems like they blew all their music budget on licensing Kanye), and a lot of the artists are nonames, and wtf at having an Adult Swim themed station? but it's got a track from :bow Grum :bow2
-game is a lot less punishing and frustrating than GTA
-customization is cool, made a voluptuous curvy girl with wavy red hair and freckles, then dressed her in raver clothes
-wrestling mission is amazing

I'm on Chapter 4 of Alan Wake, just escaped the nut house. I really like it, but I just wish the long action bits were broken up with more story bits.

It has it's slow bits, but it ramps up near the end. The DLC is still the best chapters. Glad you are enjoying it, chubby hubby

"Graphics are so [insert previous gen console]" is one of my pet peeves. Go look at any original Xbox sandbox game and then tell me it's an honest assessment.

Crap, there were hordes of people claiming that inFamous 2 didn't look any better than the original entry. What a load of horse-puckey.
