Just finished star wars: the force unleashed 1.  Pretty fun game actually, the lightsabers are weak as hell most likely to force you to use your force powers and combos more but it's actually a very fun game.  I just have the sith master and some 500 kills with xyz achievements to finish.  Next I'll probably play Dragon Age or Tomb Raider Underworld.

Finished Metro 2033. Great game - my favorite FPS campaign of 2010. There are a couple sections toward the end that are awful, but other than that I have no complaints about the game. Now I need to go back and clean up a few achievements I missed for the 1000.

Just don't bother with the Metro Explorer one, it's either very picky or glitched and it requires a full playthrough.  I would suggest following a guide to get the alternate "good" ending though, since you most likely didn't get that on the first playthrough.  In the alternate ending, the missiles don't get fired.

I got the good end on my first play through actually, along with Metro Explorer. That one isn't too bad I think. You just need to find a certain amount of dead soldiers and ammo stashes. I didn't really start going out of my way to search for stuff until chapter 4 or 5 and it still popped for me in black station or whatever it's called.

Metro Dweller was the only achievement I missed that was kinda annoying. I had to replay the first couple levels and try to get every piece of dialog I could from every NPC. Kinda lame, but it only took like 20 minutes so whatev

Ok I tried "Rock of the Dead"... so hilarious this game exists.

It's not a good game. And the sideways strum completely throws me off. So I decided to play it on my alt account and did a couple levels. Then I stuffed it back in the envelope.

Ys 7 - just got to the ancient tree. Really great game, love how fast everything moves, even if regular combat is pretty simplistic. Playing on Hard mode and bosses are pretty tough.

Bayonetta - just finished chapter 6. Getting the hang of the game, but the really fast monsters with claws that kill me in 2 hits are annoying as hell.

Just started EA Sports MMA because my Rock Band 3 partner borrowed it last night. I'll necro the UFC vs. EA MMA thread and post there, but it's better than I expected. Other friends who bought it told me it starts strong but is too shallow in comparison to UFC.

Played through act 2 in Vanquish.  Game is getting INTENSE.  I thought I was amazing until I got to the two giant robots at the same time and realized I was actually distinguished mentally-challenged  :'(

The boss of the act was awesome.  Felt straight out of Contra with all the parts to it.  <3333

Still playing Blur.  I'm slightly warming up to the game but it seems like I'm almost getting to the end of the career mode.  There are some tricky events to get to the one on one races but to be honest, the game isn't worth it to keep retrying to see if I can nitro ram a car 5 times in a race or use an item to where they fall into the water.  I'll probably send it back sometime this weekend.

I'm also still playing Ys: Oath in Felghana.  I'm still having fun with the game but when checking an FAQ, it seems like I'm 3/4 through the game with 8 hours on the clock.  I don't know how long this game lasts.

It does last about 12 hours... pretty short but sweet game. Ys 7 seems to be quite a bit longer.

I hope the fact that Sony is releasing LBP2, Killzone 3, Infamous 2, and Resistance 3 in 2011 doesn't mean they push back Uncharted 3 to 2012.

Sly Cooper HD remake looks reaaaaaally good compared to the PS2 game.

Normally I'm against milking like Nintendo re-selling the same games over and over in different packaging, but the visuals upgrades in GoW collection and Sly collection moreso really are worthwhile improvements beyond what you'll ever be able to get through emulation using the original assets.  Playing these makes me want to rebuy all my favorite PS2 games again with HD remasters.  It's definitely that dvd -> blu-ray upgrade feel.  Also Sly Collection has 3 & 1/2 games worth of full trophies for $30, haha.  If they did this on X360 with 3200 points worth of achievements, I think it'd sell pretty well ;)

Really looking forward to ICO/SoTC set now.

Beat Radiata Stories completely, including all the bonus bosses (who were pretty easy, compared to other tri-Ace games) and getting both endings.

Playing Bayonetta, up to chapter 12.

Up to the spider boss in the tree in Ys 7.

Playing a bit of Guwange on the side.

I'd say supporting the idea of remaking great games is better than spending $300.000.000 on a shitty game company and investing $500.000.000 in a fad.
Nothing good came/comes out of that.

But Steel Battalion was the best game of last generation.

I'd trade my PS3 + Wii + all of my games for an HD remake of Steel Battalion + Line of Contact with good netcode.

I started playing Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light last night since Steam was out of Risen keys.  It's pretty good!  A lot of fun and I love all the little challenges that keep every few areas exciting.  Great engine, the animation is really smooth and everything looks so nice.  I hope they make more games on it.

I don't know the name of the engine (might be Crystal engine?) but Tomb Raider Underworld used it.  Deus Ex Human Revolution is supposedly using a modified version of it, and the next retail Tomb Raider game will use it too.

actually, the new Tomb Raider is supposed to be shown soon

Quote
The Next Tomb Raider Video Game Concept for PS3, Xbox 360 and PCs

When a sudden storm destroys her research vessel, a young and inexperienced Lara Croft finds herself stranded on a mysterious and remote island hidden off the shores of Japan. Despite several signs of various inhabitants the island is oddly deserted, and an uneasy feeling settles in as strange sounds emerge from the shadows. With only her determination, inner strength and resourcefulness to help her, Lara must overcome the challenges of a harsh and unforgiving journey that will take her across a vast island wilderness and deep into the claustrophobic and menacing underground tombs from the island's past. As she struggles to prevail through brutal combat encounters and treacherous exploration, Lara will be pushed to her limited and forced to adapt to her situation in order to survive and escape from the lethal predators that stalk her every move.

    * Hunt or be Hunted: Evade, outsmart, track and kill the mysterious enemies that hunt you as prey.
    * Survival Action: Brutally attack and defend yourself as you fight to survive the visceral one-on-one melee combat.
    * Strategic Weapons: Gain an advantage in combat by finding an array of different melee and ranged weapons including a variety of guns and the hunter's ultimate weapon, the bow.
    * Creative Survival: React and adapt to the island by using only that which you can salvage from the environment like climbing axes, rope, and machetes that can be used to unlock new traversal and combat gameplay options.
    * Free Movement: Scramble up a vertical cliff wall, sprint and leap across a huge chasm, steer mid-air to land a misdirected jump. There is no one right way to traverse, survive, and explore the harsh environment of the island.
    * One Cohesive World: the diverse multi-region island is an open playground alive with creatures, weather, and natural events.
    * Origin Story: This new Tomb Raider concept reboots the franchise by exploring the origin of Lara Croft's transformation into a hardened adventurer as you unravel the story behind the island's mysterious past.

Wait, they used the same engine for this top-down game as TRU?  Crazy.  They don't look anything alike.

But hey, if it means Deus Ex 3 will run all nice and smooth on PC like Lara Croft, then it's a good thing for sure.

Tried the Dynasty Warriors: Fist of the North Star demo. Er...make that Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage.

Kenshiro part of the demo was pretty bad and I thought,"You know, that doesn't feel like Dynasty Warriors or what I was expecting this game to be like." So I tried the Rei part, andddddd much, much better. The overall structure feels like Dynasty Warriors lite in that it's not just mindless killing. I really liked it playing it. I'd like to get the game, shame Koei never drops the price of these games.

It looks like a solid adaptation of the classic anime and manga to me and it's full of fanservice. It's just a shame about that boss fight, but even that was fun once I got used to the gameplay.

Comic Jumper got patched so I can 200/200 that now. Just got RT taped down so I can boost 125,000 shots fired.

Also playing Just Cause 2 like crazy. 5% completion left to 1000/1000 so almost there.

then it'll be time to get into Deadly Premonition proper.

plays like ass (it's a run and gun like Contra or something, but really unfun and badly designed), but looks great (in parts) and is one the funniest, most well written games I have ever played. There is literally one hilarious joke/reference per minute (minimum, sometimes a lot more)

well it has "platforms" but it's as much as platformer as Metal Slug or Contra (ie. not a platformer).

It's not unbearbale to play (some will disagree) but the gameplay is never better than average to bad. It's a real shame because Splosion Man was EXCELLENT.

It's like the opposite game. Splosion Man was a rock solid gameplay challenge and was an absolute blast (excuse the pun) but had next to no presentation and story.

Comic Jumper has soooooo much dialogue and extras (the game is 2GB) and is so damn funny and well written, but the game isn't there.

If Twisted Pixel had more resources it could have been much better.

I still really rate the guys and have high hopes for their next game.

Started playing God of War Ghost of Sparta.  You know, I really enjoy God of War.  Sure the stories may be dumb and the combat is no DMC/NG/Bayo, but there's something really fun about running around through mythological locations fighting giant bosses and rolling around doing musou-but-better crowd control combat.  I'm a little bummed this might be the last GoW game for a while.  Kind of wish it was a bi-yearly franchise.  They don't even need the main team as the psp games have shown.

Yeah, but they're all terrible and not any fun to play.

It's weird that other companies can copy the formula but their games aren't actually fun to play (Dante Inferno, CV apparently).  I think it's a level of polish that the GoW games have.  That plus better developers.
