Akai Katana is the most infuriating game I've played since Ninja Gaiden 2. When you're playing for score, there's about 2345290847209 bullets on screen at any time, and you're constantly getting right up in each enemy's face in order to spawn suicide bullets, or you're rubbing your option into a cloud of bullets to increase the size of your energy balls, so death is always like 2 pixels away. I should've beaten this game so long ago, but I always die like 4 times before reaching the final stage because I'm trying to maximize my score. And what sucks, is that I never use my fucking bombs. From this point on, I am freely bombing the stage 4 and 5 bosses every time I face them. Fuck 'em.
If I can just clear the damn game, I should be able to get 600+ million, which would be good enough for maybe #6 on the leaderboard. The three 1+ billion scores on the leaderboards just melt my brain.
