i got myself red faction guerrila hoping to catch the magic of sandbox game + blowing shit up that was just cause 2 but this is really disappointing,you set an explosive on a building and all you get is a tiny hole... and the rest of the game is as western generic as you could get

man they really need to do just cause 3 $:-\$

that's the whole reason i got the thing in the first place but it just feels like i'm poking holes into a cardboard until the thing falls down on it's own in a totaly unsatysfing way

then the bad guy shows up and the whole premise of destroying stuff get thrown out of the window and get replaced by any game with guns ever

I hate the part of Red Faction where the main character meets a princess that isn't used to commoners and they have to save the world by fighting an evil emperor. I think my favorite areas had the desert town, ice town, jungle town, and that ruined town with all the poor people caught up in the war. Getting the flying boat/dragon thing was cool too.

i got to a mission where i have to destroy 12 radar things by running them over with a truck,the last one requires a big jump to reach,when i did the jump the truck flipped over and i got killed soon after,in my next attempt,one of the bad guys car bumped me a little before the jump and the sudden loss of speed made it so that i couldn't jump over the thing

that's really stupid and frustating,i thought we were done with this kind of bullshit with GTA3

But my favorite part was taking down the giant bridge WITH MY HAMMER OF STEEL

The game is realistic, so a hammer just does hammer damage. But that's the fun part. Hammering the right spots to knock down an entire building with just the burning metal of justice(destruction) in your hand.

whelp i did that mission and went to the new zone,the rocket launcher got unlocked but i still don't have enough junk to buy it

you know,here's how the next mission went just so you can understand why so far i really don't like it,first the game told me to kill some guys so i go there and kill them all,then it goes "DESTROY 4 SPEAKERS" so i get close to one of the speakers and i try to destroy it,first i try to use the rifle but the speaker looks unarmed,i guess i should feel lucky the rifle can at least kill soldiers let alone do some sort of damage to other things,so i try to throw an explosive charge at it,but the main character wimpy arms aren't buff enough to throw it high enough to reach the speaker

so i think "ehy the house holding the speaker is on a slope,if i destroy the slope part it should come tumble down" well turns out that the piece of the house with the speaker on it was able to float even with nothing to sustain it and this is what ruins the whole concept for me,things should come down at the slighest touch of hat,it should be like when you remove a card from a card house and instead destroying anything is like making a hole in a bunker! there is no physic engine behind it,either a thing is destroyed if you made enough holes in it and it comes tumbling down all at once or it's not destroyed and it stands no matter how physical improbable it is,fucking boom blox does a better job at satisfying my lust of making thing explode and topple down

so anyway frustated i try to reach the top of the house and three soldiers pop out of nothing and kills me... wish to retry? wait for the game to load,accept the mission again,wait for the game to save,return to the place where the mission actual takes place... just... why they can't just pop me right at the start? i'm pretty sure even saints row 2 does it,wasn't this game made by the same developers?

You're supposed to play Guerilla on easy. Otherwise the game is fucking bullshit. But on easy it's just pure destruction fun. I remember the original GAF |OT| had some disclaimer to "set on easy" in the OP.

Don't get me wrong, Guerrilla on normal or hard is not impossible. You can easily do it if you're careful. The difference is that Guerrilla is 10x more fun on easy because you don't have to play carefully and can just run around smashing shit with a hammer and blowing stuff up and driving cars through buildings and you're not constantly in I'M GOING TO DIE IN ONE HIT mode. RFG is more fun as crazy sandbox game than actual trial & error gameplay that the higher difficulties employ.

I am playing Aliens Infestation for DS.

This game is pretty good. For a WayForward game. It has some control issues when fighting the actual aliens... it's not very Metroid-y, but the idea is there.

It's apparently pretty short, so it's more of a distraction than anything.

i've done the mission to liberate sector 2 at least 5 times without succeding,the first 2 time one of the guy ended up dead so after realizing that for some weird reason he's the only one who's under the clock while the rest doesn't incur any risk whatsoever,i urge to find him and succed saving him before he gets killed,on my third try i randomly explode while heading toward the last objective (of course no checkpoint of sorts again) on my fourth try while trying to do thing faster i smash trough a house with my car and kill the civilian inside,WHOOPS DO EVERYTHING AGAIN! on my fifth try i park outside the house but get gangrushed by evil soldiers after saving the hostage... the thing blocking my passage to a safe retreat? the hostage i just saved who was blocking the door

this kind of spin the wheel gameplay is one of the reason why i hated GTA-like game so much

and it's the best if i don't start on those rescue mission,everytime i trigger one,i save both guys and then one of them decide that an heroic death is a better idea than following me,at least you only need to save one!

Nope.

The nanorifle just disintegrates a patch around where you aim. It's a precision weapon.

I believe I've also seen it cause a fear reaction in EDF troops, if you disintegrate someone in a group. Sometimes others in the group will just decide it's time to bail, maybe become an ice cream truck driver or accountant.

The big explosion is the Thermobaric Rocket for projectiles, or the MOABs if you just want to attach a bomb to a vehicle. MOABs are won by finding any three Radio Tags.

I agree totally- I play plenty of bad games on purpose but I couldnt stay motivated. Yes its pretty, but you spend far too long in levels doing nothing interesting. Dantes Inferno was a fun ride with weird ass visuals.

Even if it does look nice the stages dont change much- its not like you play 5 minutes of a stage and see something different, it almost all looks the same the entire stage. Plus the combat is braindead and the story is so very wat and I hate lucifel

You don't have to lose the boss fights in El Shaddai (well, most of them - maybe you have to lose some, don't remember), if you beat them you get a different line of dialogue and it moves on to the next scene anyway. Game still sucks though.

The stages where you collect the bones of ishtar or whatever are the absolute worst. Made me loathe the game and I only played them for like 20 minutes total.

The Wii is a motherfucking wasteland right now. I'd imagine the twats in that thread are one console only types and Wii is their only machine. The other shit isn't THAT expensive anymore, feggits.
