Made a lot of progress in
King's Field IV. I feel really strong now and I could finally set up some useful teleports to key locations so exploration should be quicker from now on. I also have a partial map of the ruins, yay. Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot left to see, but re-finding previously locked chests is going to be difficult enough. Kinda wish I had kept a list or drawn my own maps or something, but the place isn't actually that big, so...
Also, Raban, you lied! There are totally enemies that are faster than you.

Those reptilian Xenomorph looking things are really annoying. I kill them in one or two hits now but the first encounters were harrowing, because they tend to run around you. And if that wasn't enough they can also afflict you with lethargy, which drastically reduces your movement speed. It#s easy enough to avoid, but man... A quickturn. That's all I ask.
Those phoenixes are really hard to hit as well, with bows at least. I ignore them now, despite the fact that they seem to drop a lot of money. There's a chance that anything they drop floats down the abyss anyway, so fuck 'em.
Aiming a bow is cumbersome in general if you're used to using the sticks primarily, because you have to hold square to draw the string, so that thumb is occupied. Using the shoulder buttons to aim up and down works but I don't like it. Speaking of bows, fuck archers. I had to cheese my way through one particular encounter facing about a dozen at once. Then, quite a while after that you get magic that defends against projectiles. Well fuck you, game! Another such incident happens after you un-freeze the foundry. What's behind the locked door? A fire sword! Gee, thanks, game. It is a good weapon, but come on...
