lol
And yeah, Lei Fei is really the only mash friendly VF character. He's kind of like the Eddie Gordo of VF. Pai and Lau are the next closest, but at most you'll get PPPK variations and anyone can counter that.
I'm not weird! In VF say I don't know ANYTHING and I want to learn Akira. All I need to do is:
1. tap each direction with P and I'll find his various interrupter attacks that will break a lot of the opponents moves
2. double tap each direction and P and I'll find his offensive Elbow, his DF/DF+P juggler
3. try b,f with P and I'll find his BITCH SMACK knockdown which works both ways
4. then by GASP tapping U or D I will learn how to side step

With that in hand I can actually play Akira at a low, but not noob level by blocking, dodging and countering and offensively attacking. That takes about 3 mins! I can even do awesome combos! Anything I want! Freeform! Not just canned ones! By flowing up the DF,DF+P, the F,F+P, or B,F+P if they connect. It's possible I could beat someone else who is low-level or beat SP opponents with just what I've learned here.
In Tekken, I pick Kazuya and do the same 4 steps with one of the punch buttons. I learn much less and I can't beat anyone. I also can't do freeform combos so I'm frustrated instead of satisfied.
I dunno, I find VF super accesible because it's SO EASY TO MAKE COMBOS. Most hits float on counter and a lot of moves launch for juggles. Then you can do ANYTHING YOU WANT and if in your mind it should connect using the game's physics then...hey it connects! In Tekken it feels like freeform combos require higher knowledge of the game since you float the enemy less and less stuff connects. And the problem with the basic moves is that instead of a simple command that anyone can learn like F+P or F,F+P, or B,F+P the commads are like HP+LK -> HP+LP which how the fuck are you supposed to figure out on your own without a move list. Then again if you just MASH THE BUTTONS that move would probably come out at some point.
Also in VF the 80% of the move commands are shared across characters. So once you learn one character's movelist, you can pick any other character and press the same directions with the same buttons and get that character's moves. This makes the game really easy to pick up and play for newbies once they learn a single character's movelist. Tekken doesn't really do this. If I press what I do as Kazuya I'm not going to get most of King's moves.
