Check out this sweet PSP redisign. That's totally real!
« on: May 30, 2009, 12:39:23 PM »

It's supposably leaked from the newest QORE(Go download it right now! GO GO). Notice the lack of UMD drive meaning that if legit, Sony fucked over anyone that bought games. And if theres no issue with doing that, why not just add a second thumbstick? I hate them.

Pretty ugly, much prefer the original design. Nub placement is terrible.

I'll stick with my CFW PSP.

2003:

"Hey, let's design a handheld that's somewhere between a ps1 and ps2 in power, for kickass 3D gaming on the go."

"Sounds great!  Where should we put the analog sticks?"

"Fuck a bunch of analog sticks, nerd.  Who needs analog sticks for 3D gaming?"

2004:

"Okay, okay, you'll get one fucking analog nub.  That's plenty.  Now shut the fuck up."

2008:

"You know what would really put us over the top for this fourth revision?  Make this bitch smaller, and download only.  People like it when you shrink stuff and make it slide or fold out or whatever the fuck.  We could be making all kinds of Nintendo and Apple money if we did that.  Extra battery life, extra portability, and plus the memory stick division needs a extra kick in the ass by a boot full of money.  Get on it."

"Do you think we could take this opportunity to correct the 3D camera control problems and add a second nub somewhere?"

"Dude, just take the one we have and shove it in there somewhere.  I swear to God, all you do is flapflapflap your fucking suckhole about that 3D analog camera control bullshit.  We're not getting any richer with you just standing there with that look on your face, by the way."

Can't believe this is real, it looks so fucking awful.  So they made the design worse, gave it a recessed d-pad, and put the nub in a terrible spot to cramp your hands when playing.  What the fuck are they thinking?

Well Japan is their biggest software market...
Its more like transitional gesture to soften the impact of what about UMDs

Besides everybody that owns UMDs has PSP capable of playing it.

Why would they prevent people to rebuy games? They have to pay money for those machines*

Looks like trash. If anything, it'll drive PSP-3000 prices way down (despite the exec dude saying that it'll be sold alongside the current-gen PSP models), so I can finally upgrade my PSP phat.

I didn't even consider that the new screen with throw off the balance.  That's one reason why I dislike playing my DS systems.

what a fucking mess

btw, it also confirms that new PS3 redesign.  Same exact styles of boxes are being used.

even the screen is smaller.  smh

3.8" screen  (PSP currently has 4.3" screen.  The DSi got a .5 inch bigger screen, PSP Go gets .5 inch smaller screen lol)
43% lighter than previous version
16 Gig memory
Bluetooth support
No UMD
Downloads games and movies

look at that fucking design.  It even has spaces for 2 analog nubs yet they put start select there.  What trash.

actually, watching the qore video the thing does look really tiny.  it's still ugly when open, but maybe the shoulder buttons won't be a problem.  They also see mto come down the side a bit too, not just at the top.

thin.

on second thought the nub placement is slighlty similar to how it looks on a dual shock (imagine the other groove has another nub instead of the start/select buttons).

Will like to see it being used first

One hilarious thing I just realized is that they let you slide the screen, but other than L/R, you have no control over the actions.  If you want to use media or even use the browser, you still need to open the device up.  Good jon, sony.

and it's releasing in fall.  Gran Turismo PSP most likely launching with it.  It's considered a premium product and may not cost less than the current PSP.

No touch screen or accelerometer .  The only buttons accessible on the outside seem to be volume, home and L/R.

It has bluetooth so maybe Skype will come pre-loaded?

well the PSP- 2000s and up had Skype on the firmware so it will more likely continue that tradition.

but i was more talking the pure phone capability since not everyone will know skype compared to just going to the "phone" feature (like the iphone)

I am willing to bet that the speakers are even worse on this model. Even on the old thicker models, more sound came through the back of the PSP speakers than through the front, I can only imagine what it will be like when the back of this one is equivalent to a sheet of paper.
