Things that annoy me about people, #4196:

People who constantly laugh at what they say, especially when they're the only ones finding any humor in whatever was said.

Now I have to add 4196b, because I have a new coworker that has that very problem, but with a twist. You know in television shows and/or movies, there's the stereotypical way-too-drunk-guy laugh that's just a big release of air that makes everyone within range recoil, as if the very vapors could induce alcohol poisoning, and trails off in such a way that you think the person surely must pass out? She's got that laugh. So she'll say something not remotely funny and then follow it with drunk-guy laugh. It's insufferable.

I have time to whine about this, of course, because I literally have nothing to do. But that's better, I guess, then their ideas of having me work on some canned solution's implementation.

Hmm, this online dating stuff seems to be getting insane for me - I'm talking to about 12 girls in concurrence at the moment... everything from 20 year olds still in college, to 29 year old divorcees, from short Italian girls to tall blondes, from girls that live all the way on the other side of Nassau, to ones who actually went to HS with me... even a super fobby Chinese girl (who "likes the horror movies with ghost")... the one I like the best? The petite, 23 year old blonde who moved here a few years ago from Bialystok, of course!

I'd say it's a double-edged sword... you definitely meet a lot more people that's for sure. Especially if you're like me, who while not necessarily afraid of approaching, tends not to go out too much to places frequented by females. I could break the ice just fine, but still am a bit awkward when it comes to conversation. The girls you meet online are much pickier, since they are getting emailed by tons of people a day. I was talking to this one girl I met online, she is definitely on the heavy side, and she was telling me how she went on like 5 dates in a week! And honestly, this is a heavy-set, not terribly attractive, country girl from the middle of nowhere... so I could only imagine what a decent looking girl must do. Apparently, I do much better than a lot of my peers who have tried online dating, since I actually go on dates with the girls I meet, and have gotten girlfriends from there in the past (like Jesus Freak).

I really would like to go out and meet people in public a bit more... kinda hard though when your job has very few girls working there, you're not in college anymore, and your social connections don't know any single women either. Haven't seen the gym girl lately, she seems like the best bet for a girl I date that I met in real life.

People who talk loudly all the time, oblivious to others around them.

So this same coworker from 4196. She has one volume. On the phone, with clients, with management, with others... loud. As others are speaking in low volumes so as to not disturb anyone who might be working, she bellows as loud as can be. I just heard her long conversation about school, tests, and tennis with her daughter. Seriously? First of all, your daughter is in high school which means naturally she does not want to talk to you. And the rest of us in the office don't care about her chemistry test on Friday or her tennis match tomorrow. Shut up and get off the phone. But mostly shut up.

I'm going to go deaf with having to turn my iPod volume way up just to drown out this woman.

gf is sick with a 102F fever. Now I'm paranoid because last month I got a virus from her that lasted 4 weeks of sick since I have a weakened immune system and I was with her all last night :\ I feel fine for nowwww, but sometimes these things take a day. :X

I'm number 2 and 3 for a required ethnic studies online classes (I only need to take one class) but I'm worried I can't even get into either. About a year ago, I was 40 something on an art history waiting list and I still got in. Now everybody is so competitive due to these budget cuts.

I work in an offshore oil rig for the largest oil company in the world, Saudi Aramco. While the pay is great, it sucks dick being away for 7 days from (uncensored) internet, gaming, and real food. Another thing that gets on my nerves is the fact that I have literally NOTHING in common with the other Saudis here. I'm always being criticized for not joining them in their self-absorbed little get-togethers and gay escapades. I need to move back.

Couldn't you buy a DS or PSP and do some gaming on the rig?

Well I have a DSi and Chrono Trigger's been keeping me busy but I mostly play console games and it sucks not being able to take them with me every time I go. It also sucks that EB and NeoGAF are blocked by the office internet they set up for us there. They've been promising us Home DSL for a year or so.

Ever since Aramco was given to the Saudis, it's been nothing but downhill from there.

Yeah, I can barely swallow. Stupid getting sick. I had 3 weeks of good health since being sick for 3-4 weeks in august due to throat infections and now sick again. And it's worse now cause I have school and I probably need to go to class today since you can't miss more than 2-3 in law school without getting failed in a once a week class. :\

At least this seems different from whatever I had in august. Back then I had a horrible 102F along with it, here I have no fever just super super super sore throat. :X
