Some cool special effects, but I'm guessing the plot is another crappy survival storyline like Day After Tomorrow:

Interestingly enough, Knowing is essentially the same movie as 2012.

End of the world? Check.
Knowledgeable main character? Check.
Kid? Check
Wife/girlfriend/female acquaintance? Check.
Race to escape the devastation? Check.
Lots of expensive destruction scenes? Check.
Laughable dialogue/acting? Check.

The movie is unbelievable shit, which is why they are sending it to die against Twilight 2.

It's basically Knowing, but with a MUCH bigger budget and a much dumber story...

2012 just looks like another overly-serious, convoluted, poorly acted, poorly written, end-of-the-world borefest with a few awesome effects scenes scattered here and there. Not dissimilar from other recent movies like Knowing, The Core, The Happening [lulz], The Day After Tomorrow, The Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds, and so on.

that chaos was almost, I dunno, phantasmagoric? here's a fucking rolling donut, a truck instantly exploding, a train flying around, off into an office floor now, here's a parking lot of raining cars, now we're in a plane, 20 highway flipping shots out spielberg's 'war of the worlds' ... and all the wierdly nonchalant conversation through each narrow escape

I think they start the scripts for these disaster shows by making a list of famous monuments and spectacular ways of wrecking them and then giving it to one of their kids to throw some little story things in the middle as an excuse to fill up the other hour and a half.
