And who wants to bet that EA has new DLC already in the can?

I'd bet we'll get three more Pacific island maps for another $15, probably no more than that.  They're not going to waste too much time or too many resources creating new assets, so any maps will use what they already have and be really similar to what's already in the game.  I was thinking a European expansion map pack would be cool, but I doubt that'll happen now given that they'd have to create new weapons, player models, ground and building textures, etc.  More than likely that stuff will show up next year around this time in a separate Battlefield 1944 title (and, knowing EA, it won't interface with BF1943 in any way).

Coral Sea is cool I guess... sucks ass waiting on a carrier for a plane.

It's awesome flying real low and sneaking onto the enemies carrier then getting in their AA gun and annihilating their planes  :lol

I was worried when you said that, but you really don't even wait that long - if at all.

It's neat in a kind of online tutorial on how to fly planes, but not very engaging.

It sold many times over what they were expecting it to sell, so I'd say the odds are pretty good.  I wouldn't expect any Euopean maps (they'll save that for a 1944 sequel), but I'd guess we'll get a couple more Pacific maps before the year is out.

on another note, i wonder how many companies looked at the crazy first-week sales of BF1943 and have already started planning on updating their classic MP catalogue for XBL and PSN

if serious sam does well, we could be looking at a renaissance of upgraded old-school MP games in downloadable form

i think i'm about done with this, to be honest

after that initial rush wears off, without proper matchmaking it's getting to be more frustrating than fun

you've either got people on your team just fucking off and suiciding all the time on purpose, or you're paired against dudes who are already experts and know every nook and cranny

there's no way to get paired up with people at your own skill level (or lack thereof), you're just tossed into the pit against guys who have already put an entire work week worth of hours into it - and if someone puts over forty hours into a game that's only been out for 11 days then it's like, "Congratulations!  You're officially, no doubt about it, a pathetic sack of shit."

i had no idea you guys were even playing tonight, i played some force unleashed and hopped into a few matches afterwards

it just honestly isn't much fun going up against a team of people who've played so much the skin of their ass cheeks have started growing into their chairs, like that lady who spent a year on the toilet

i know i'm never going to be very good at the game simply because i'll never even want to invest/waste that amount of my life on it, but it sure would be nice if they'd put some/a little/any matchmaking into it so i could play with people around my own level and feel like i at least have a tiny chance - instead of throwing my hands up in the air and just piloting the boat around the island in circles until the match is over
